  1. Thank you for your reply. The new Pink Line actually just started servicing my work area, but between the 3 different lines I would have to use, it would still be around 1.20 or so, so still preferably to take the car.
  2. Hi everybody, I moved work place during the pandemic and started to need a car to drive to work everyday (25km north of Bangkok). I got a great deal (IMO) from one of the large international car rental companies as they had no tourists to rent their cars to (newish Toyota Altis 15K a month all-in). Now, my lease is up and they, understandably so, would like to increase the monthly rate significantly. Anyone has recommendations for good long-term rental car companies or leasing companies that are worth seeking out? I do not mind paying up to 25K a month, but preferably for a nicer car than my current one then. Thank you in advance for your advice,
  3. Hi, I am heading to Hua Hin for the long weekend. What are good places to pick up wines? Are there any wine shops or is it still Blu Port and Villa? Also, any good restaurants or wine bars there as well? Thank you in advance,
  4. Good morning, Anybody successfully registered and received the new M-Pass as a non-KTB customer? I got a new car recently and tried to register for the old Easy Pass to be told it's being replaced by the M-Pass? However, after 2 less successful visits to 2 different KTB branches, I am still a bit confused about how to get the M-Pass as a non-KTB customer. Anyone got any experience with this who like to share their stories? TIA
  5. The question was therefore, if any members here had personal experiences with hospitals/clinics where they were either sent home or to hospitals. Which would effect my decision on where to go for the PCR
  6. This is good advice and I would do that, but I work for a company where policy is to get PCR tested once you test positive. So the PCR is a must. Question is now, where to take it with the lowest risk of getting admitted? Thank you all for your helpful comments.
  7. So after having managed to escape Covid for 2 years in Bangkok, the dreaded 2 stripes finally appeared on today's ATK test. Now, I am aware of the proper procedures and I intend to follow these, but I would really prefer home quarantine instead of any combination of hospital/hotel etc. Are there hospitals/clinics you can go and take your PCR test, where the chances of them sending you home to self quarantine larger than others? I could imagine that private hospitals would be more inclined to admit you than government hospitals, but this is just a feeling. FWIW, I live by myself, am young and healthy and only very very mild symptoms. Any experiences with this or advice, please share. Thank you in advance
  8. A good suggestion. I actually had a viewing there and the gym is exactly what I was looking for. Rooms and furniture however, were a bit too outdated, especially considering the asking price.
  9. Thank you for the suggestion. I do love a good river view, but I am more looking for something on the Bangkok side of the river.
  10. Happy New Years! I am looking for a condo with rental units in Central Bangkok (Suk/Sathorn/Silom) with a proper gym. Proper in the sense it got bar bells, squat rack, pull-up station, dumbbells over 20kg etc. A good example would be the Waterford Diamond in Suk 30/1, but preferably a condo slightly newer. Anyone got any suggestions or recommendations? Thank you in advance
  11. Seems like they had a proof of residence, but there were some issues with it. What they were, I do not know. You need to have a new medical certificate. Can't remember exactly how old it can be, but not more than a month old or so. Dr. Donna took care of it in 10 min and dirt cheap so that would be my recommendation. No appointments for foreigners, is my understanding at the moment. Only walk-in and first come. Cannot stress how important it is that you get there early. 6.30 or so, and you'll be good. Yeah, same building as always. Big purple front at the end of the complex when you come from Phahon Yothin.
  12. Went to the DLT in Chatuchak to renew my license last week. They only process 40 foreigners a day, on a first-come basis. I arrived at 6.50am and all seats were filled up by then, so go there very early. Quite a few had problems with the proof of residence and was turned away so make sure you got that in order. That being said, once you get your queue number, it is as smooth sailing as dealing with Thai government entities gets.
  13. I am having a similar issue. I was vaccinated in the EU (2xBiontech) and have a valid vaccine pas for the EU. However, here I am unable to register on MorProm since I do not have a Thai ID (or yellow book etc). Anyone has been in the same situation and gotten the MorProm app to work proper?
