  1. I like Thailand and the people and hope they will come out of this for the good.I am not  health expert by no means but as we experienced in Canada a complete lock down for a couple of months is the only way to tackle the virus with only the necessary grocery stores open and masking and social distancing and strict gathering numbers imposed. Then test and high vaccination rates.Good luck to all and hope tourism will return soon.

  2. His information about canada is wrong. There are two provinces ontario and quebec with cases of 500 plus with the latter being 700.The maritime provinces have very little covid with one province having three cases and the remainder having zero or single digit no higher then three.

Western provinces have low double digit with one province in the 125 to 135 range. Not thousands as he stated. Canada is doing very well managing the virus and the eastern provinces leading with the atlantic bubble.

  3. Canada has done a good nob in dealing with and controlling the virus. The premiers and their medical staff along with their virus experts and the co operation of the citizen's now have the virus down to double digits daily for the whole country. We all still follow the rules wash hands wear masks and social distancing plus number control. The country is all in stage three which is as close is to normal as possible. The USA is still reporting close to a thousand death's some day's.We should be on that list of being allowed into Thailand if and when the time comes.

I have been in Thailand on and off for over 15 years. I really have never used running water for drinking, even after boiling it. I will only use bottled water for anything that would go into my stomach.

Even when showering sometimes you can smell some kind of metalic substance.

I agree I have lived in bkk for 16 month's and have and still do vacation there, but have and would never drink the tap water.I don't even brush my teeth or rinse my mouth with it. Always bottled water.

  5. That's exactly my thoughts katipo also. Her hands were and are tied and if she pushed too hard against the military she would have been assassinated.

Shame on those special interest and her critics in the western countries who called for removal of her Nobel prize. So plain to see they know nothing of how that dictatorship in Myanmar works and do not understand the culture in some of these Asian countries ruled by the military dictatorship.

  6. I ate at the Chinese restaurant in that hotel in February while in Bangkok. It was crappy Chinese food and expensive for the tiny amount of food per serving.Won Ton soup the size of a tea cup.Main course serving very small.Needless to say I left hungary which is rear when you eat at a Chinese restaurant. The Chinese restaurant in Raddison Blu Plaza much much better and you get value for your money.

  7. Why overstay on a tourist visa or any for that matter?I myself have a SETV for 60 day's.Two week's before it expired I phoned immigration Kohn Kean and they were very helpful and friendly.Told me to come in now and they would extend for me.I went in at the new bus terminal payed my 1900 baht and received extension for 30 more day's.So why would the person prefer to pay for 30 day overstay rather then just apply and pay only 1900 and have no bad stamp in his passport. Now he must suffer the consequences and no sympathy for him.No excuse for overstay unless very ill or accident.I think its just laziness....

  8. Want to send a friend a couple of gifts in Thailand.I would definitely not want them to pay,any custom and excise duties, should there be any charges.Doe anyone know the allowable amount can be sent taxes exempt for a thai person.

Any helpful info greatly appreciated.Oh will be shipping via Fed Ex.

  9. 1 online type Royal Thai Embassy

2 in left side of screen select visas

    3 select tourist visa

    4 print the application page

5 Fill the application out (fully )

6 Sign in two places make sure you choose single entry visa

    7Get a 2x2 pass photo and a money order for 50 bucks

8 Get your ticket as you must include a copy of it along with itinerary

9 Get 2 courier envelopes and one you address to the royal thai embassy

and the other you address to yourself for return of your passport.Put all documents in the envelope addressed to the thai embassy along with the return addressed envelope.I use fedex and they are very good. Then just wait for your return passport.

Hope this helps oh and the single entry is good for sixty days.

  11. 120 thousand a month wow!Expensive living. If his wife is thai, why not buy a house and i am sure mortgage payment would not be 30 thousand a month.Maybe 10 at the most. That would free up 20 thousand alone.
