  1. I know what your getting at, but why would I do that? I'm not travelling in Mexico and nowhere near it.
  2. I've got insurance in Thailand, but I'm visiting family for 6 weeks in the US and I've got no insurance. Can I still buy travel insurance to cover me here even though I've already started my trip? Even if I'm not covered for the first 2 weeks, I'd like to have coverage for major illness or accident for the last month of my trip if possible.
  3. Thank you for that. Part of the year has to be in 2023, but it can extend into 2022 or 2024 if my understanding is correct, eh? For example I couldn't do 2021-2022, eh? Thanks again.
  4. Thanks for the info. It seems like I will have to do 1116 form, but I won't be able to do the 2555 form because I was in the US for 45 days in 2023. When you submitted the form for your Lao tax, was it in Lao language? My tax form is all in Thai and if I submit that, I just want to know if it will be a problem where they'll require me to get it translated. I can convert the Thai Baht to USD, but the rest is all complicated official Thai language. I don't have an accountant because I don't make enough to warrant it. Will file by myself.
  5. "Also note that for the physicsl presence test you'd not have to use the exact tax year. Any 12 month period can be used." Any 12 month period starting when? In 2020 and 2021 I didn't go to the US at all, But I was there for 30 consecutive days in 2022, and in 2023 I was there for 30 days from mid April to mid May, and 15 more days in August. I've been working in Thailand and staying on a non-immigrant B visa. In the past, I've always submitted Form 2555 with the 1040 as you mentioned, but in 2023 I was in the US for 45 days. Yes, I need to submit a substitute W2 form. I will read the link you sent. Thank you
  6. Has anyone here had any issues filing US taxes with the 1040 form with Thai tax documents? In 2023, I was in the USA for more than 31 days, so now I have to file the standard 1040 form (instead of Form 2555) and submit the Thai equivalent to the W2 form (I think it’s the 91 form) which is all in Thai. It would be good to hear any of your experiences if you’ve had to do this. I know I also need to complete FBAR for my Thai bank account. Do I need anything else?
  7. Who did you meet with at NCS? I know David Ogden is a native speaker that works with them as well as some Thais educated overseas.
  8. I'm looking for recommendations for general therapists/counselors in Bangkok. If you have personal recommendations of a particular therapist you would recommend, please reply with his/her name, organisation/location and contact info. I'm not looking for rehab therapist, just a professional to talk to about general issues. I know there is a list of psychotherapy clinics in Bangkok from 2008 (updated in 2009) but I'm looking for more recent personal recommendations.
  9. Are their any rules/laws about leaving money in Thai bank accounts when leaving Thailand after work permit/visa expires? I might be moving back home later this year, but I intend on coming to Thailand for a 1-3 months per year and I thought I'd leave 100k in my bank account here for when I come back? Does anyone here do that? Are there any risks involved?

    Amway

Amway is a pyramid scheme. Another one in Thailand is Unicity. The only way sellers can make real money is by bringing more people into the company to sell so they get a cut of the profit. Most sellers don't make much money, but if you're good at "evangelising" and bringing people into the company who sell a lot, you can do well. My friend was convinced by another friend to join Unicity. She talked for weeks about how good it was and even tried to sell products to me. Ultimately she never made any money gave up, and focused on her real job and never mentioned it again.
  11. Thais wearing a mask has nothing to do with anti-vaxers. You were just making a cheap shop against people you don’t like.
  12. No, in the US he wouldn't have been shot, he would've been been tackled and cuffed by two or 3 officers immediately, or if there was only one officer, he would've been tasered, then cuffed. You clearly have some immature biases about the US.
  13. Pitbulls are worse than wild animals. A wild animal will avoid people for the most part, but an aggressive pit bull that is unrestrained will attack any person or animal it can get to.
  14. I noticed after I left the airport (May 19, 2023) that they didn't staple the TM6 arrival/departure card inside my passport. Did they stop issuing those or did the immigration officer just forget? I need to renew my Non-immigrant visa next week and I don't know if my paperwork will be accepted without that TM 6 card.
