  1. They need a non-O visa for volunteering. An Ed-visa or a tourist "visa" will not do as volunteering requires a work permit and that is not given on those visas. 1 year extensions of stay are only given if there is a goevrnment official involved with a high enough status. If the NOGO idoes not work with the government that will be problematic. In that case they need to get a multiple non-O visa and leave the country every 90 days.
  2. You cannot change a non-Immigrant visa into another non-immigrant visa. What immigration in Thailand can do is give you a 60 day extension to visit your wife OR give you a 1 year extension of stay based on your marriage. (But you don't live with your wife) If you do not qualify for the 1 year extension you have to get a (multiple) non-O visa abroad.
  3. You have to be living with your wife and your wife have to go with you to immigration. They might also want some witnesses to confirm you live to gether and the marriage is genuine. Immigration will not convert to a non-immigrant via as you already have one, but give an extension of stay based on marriage with If you de not meet the requirements, you have to leave the country and apply for a non-O at a Thai consulate, poosibly a multiple non-O.
  4. Just a small reminder as they often seem to get mixed up: TM 30 is the form for reporting that a foreigner is staying at your property. The website is mostly for hotels and such TM 47 is the form for reporting your stay of 90 days in Thailand.
  5. A visa is not transferred, but lost. What would be transferred is a permission to stay and extension there of. But a valid multiple entry visa is lost.
  6. He is not charged with a sex crime. He is charged with leading a minor away from her parents, which leaves the qustion of sex and consent outside the legal proceeding. A strategy that is not uncommen in Thailand.
  7. One can complain tom the head of immigration, at immigration headquarters. In that case a formal investigation will take place and you will be heard (get visited by immigration to tell your story). Immigration officals are scared and can be in trouble if one folows this route. Regarding denied applications for an extension you can appeal the decision and a higher officer will than have a look. Ultimately you can go to the court and immigration will have to defend its decision and give reasons why they do not follow the rules or ask for extra docmentation. Often it is simpler to just call the immigration hotline if you think immigration don't follow the correct procedure. Often they will than contact the local immigration office and try to sort things out.
  8. 2 days would mean a 1,000 fine at the airport. Going to immigration will be 1,900 bath for an extra 7 days. Given the checks that are often performed now adays I would get the extension and be worry free and legal.
  9. Labour department comes not into play regarding drugs as with drugs you normaly get deported and banned from entry. Criminal records which include serving time are grounds for deportation, incuding if it is a conviction from abroad.
  10. Home visits are normally only for the first application or when you change address.
  11. Thai male marreid to foreign male would not have to show any income for an extension, Thai female married to a foreign female the foreign female would have to show an income of at least 40,000 a year. That would be the requirements under the current immigration rules for people who are married to a Thai national.
  12. You need to follow the instructions and start with downloading the Oneplatform app.
  13. The TCT has now listed the names of people apporved for the 7 module course to become a licensed teacher. You will need to follow the instructions and download an app to check it. http://site.ksp.or.th/content.php?site=englishsite&SiteMenuID=1888&Action=view&Sys_Page=&Sys_PageSize=&DataID=9620
  14. Deneid entry means that you will be returned to the palce of origin. So if coming from Cambodia they will sent you back to Cambodia. If in detention they will normally send you back to your home country, or a country where you are a resident.
  15. No, the norm is an extension the same day you apply. Only for marriage there is a waiting period as these must be approved by a committe which checks if the mariage is genuine. So check with your immigraiton office what the approval ttime is and as said, often you can aply up to 45 days early. With 30 days before the expirationdate being the norm.
  16. The report back date is pretty must fixed and must be stamped on the forms they send to HQ for approval of the extension, so the immigration officer has not much flexibility. If you have not already used it, you can get a 60 day extension for visiting your Thai wife. That will give you enough time to leave and return and after that extend based on marriage.
  17. with a re-entry permit you can enter and leave Thailand before the underconsideration period ends. But you must be in Thailand on the day the under consideration period ends and visit immigration. They will not like it if you come after that date. If you are not even in Thailand on that date your permisison of stay ended and you will only be allowed a visa exempt entry (if you qualify) and have to get a new non-O visa and start the whole process again. Explain your situation and ask if they can give you the extension before the end of consideration, you will need a re-entry permit from immigration anyway.
  18. You can enter Thailand on an exipred Thai passport. But entering on an expired Thai passport means that you need to leave on a Thai passport and that you can not do aon an expired Thai passport.. So you have to get a new passport in Thailand, for which both parents must agree.
  19. Served (under another name) with him as a moderator in the Thai visa section. He was a great source of information and always there to help people. For that alone he will be missed. My condolences to his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
  20. many Westerns countries now have provisions in their national that allow their citizens to be prosecuted for sexual exploitation of minors. If not send back to Thailand they can still be prosecuted in their own country. Jesse James will have to the law: https://www.justice.gov/criminal-ceos/extraterritorial-sexual-exploitation-children
  21. Pink card does not show nationality. It shows you are a foreigner with the first digit, next numbers show the province, than the amphur, etc.
  22. Doesn't look like it as they don't seem to mention it, but the only one who can tell you is the Krusapa itself. Note that you will still need to do the teachers exam from the kurusapa itself and that is no picknick in the park.
  23. As a teacher I help my students cross the road almost every day because it is very dangerous. Yes, there are those who don't stop for police or see others stopping and just take the opportunity to put the pedal to the metal. In fact I am glad there no longer is a police officer at our school, as when I am alone the drivers tend to stop more. And after 3 years doing this many locals now the drill when they see me and tend to slow down by themselves. Now there are on avarage only 3 dangerous situation a week.
  24. Per above, you do need a teaching license and teaching without one is punishable with a jail term of 1 year and/or a fine of 10,000 baht. In practise you probably fly under the radar as for university itself there is no teaching license requierement. But would probably aslso have the seperate crime of supplying fake documents as the labour office might require a teaching schedule and such. Without a teaching license you can teach at univrsity level or at a language school. There no teaching license is required.
