Damned confusing reading.... I will edit OP's posts if he/she asks. Were the truffles founded as in a charity organisation or were the truffles deliberately grown? cmsally
National Park truffle or laboratory truffle. Don't understand, it seems to have been grown but then popped up in the National Park somehow.

HerbalEd
Yes, this article is somewhat confusing. But the real story here is that finding truffles growing in Thailand -- either planted or wild -- proves that truffles can indeed grow in tropical Thailand. This is great news for truffle dealers and those who love to eat truffles. The very rare and delicious mushrooms are probably the most expensive food -- of any kind -- in the world. They continue their research and found more species - three total. End of story. They never said they grew it, it was found, now they are looking into to see if it can be farmed. Ruffian Dick
It looks to me like they found the truffle growing in the forest. Why does anyone think it was laboratory grown? It wouldn't have received a new species name in that case. Anyway, truffles are overpriced and overrated.
