PHUKET: A 58-year-old American expat was found dead after jumping from the fourth floor of a luxury condominium in Patong this morning (Oct 11) over what police believe to be personal or financial issues.

Capt Teerasak Boonsang of the Patong Police arrived at the scene, behind the Phuket Villa Beach Condo Patong, at 8am to find the body of the man* lying on the ground.

The man was wearing a grey shirt and black shorts with wounds on his back. A medical examination at Patong Hospital revealed that his right arm was broken and right shoulder fractured, said police.

He jumped after stabbing himself in the back, bloody rubbish.

Brain dead police again, farang dead  below a balcony, so he must have jumped.!!

for someone who spends so much time on this site, one would have assumed you could read, however the comments you make seem to have no relation to the actual news article posted.

Have another think about who might be the brain dead one. Nowhere does the report say there were stab wounds.

Careless talk can only add to the distress and grief thst the family and loved ones must already be feeling.

Do you guys who like to talk like this have any consideration  for the deceased's loved ones?

I'll bet that even if there were no physical stab wounds then there were emotional and psychological stab wounds. He died of wounds they used to say after the war, respectful of what they had gone through, irrespective of how they physically died.

Except that unlike after a war, these wounds could have been largely self inflicted.

Now it feels normal again. With no reports of farangs jumping from high balconies last few weeks, something seemed to be amiss

Well, there's always those Chinese ignoring red (!) flags and drowning in the sea around Phucket to cheer us up.

Just imagine roles reversed. Your western country is devolping and thai men are wealthy and they come in their millions to shag your females.

And it also becomes a suicide utopia

You want your tax dollars spent on the forensics? It ain't cheap!

Case closed... Next!!!

Who says he was stabbed? Sounds like another case of brain-dead summisations by know-all farangs, who give the rest of us a bad name, again!! CCTV evidently shows him in some apparent emotional distress pacing in and out of his room.. if he'd been stabbed, then it took a bloody long time for it to 'kick in' and force him to tumble (not even from his room apparently) to the ground!!! People like yourself simply will not have it that some foreign guys really do commit suicide here for whatever reason.. gotta be a police cover up or, at best, a set-up by other Thais!! (Not that these things can't and don't ever happen, but some objective balance please, fellas!! 'Oh really?.. Mmm.. Well, <deleted> if I know!' at least would be more objective - and certainly truer! - than anything usually posted on here!!!)... :wai:

Dunromin is correct! Jump from 3rd Floor and you can sometimes get away with broken ankles and hip dislocations.

You need 21 floors----at least, I knew somebody who wanted it so he went up 21.

PS--I worked in ER for 12 years and I have seen more flyers (down) and One Unders (train and tube) than all of you amateur balcony watchers. But I feel better now that people have started to jump again. We had a long dry patch (not a sticky patch...).

Which conceivably came from the latches and frame of the 4th floor elevator area window that he climbed through before falling to his death.

Or the knife that nobody attending the scene has mentioned. Ever.

All those hours watching CSI wasted.
