New unedited footage shows British pensioner taking machete swipe at Thai man

It's a shame that the dashcam footage has been edited. Within the first minute we see the white car recklessly overtaking, causing oncoming traffic to stop to prevent an accident. We see the white car's driver gesturing out of the window. We see the white car purposefully causing contact with the farang's car. We see the white car stopped and waiting for the farang car before setting off again to stop or damage the farang car again. We possibly might have seen the farang overtake the white car causing the classic loss of face for the white car driver.

We also see a stupid farang get caught up in what looks like a run of the mill daily event on Thailand's roads. It would be interesting to know if the farang has always been as quick tempered. At 77 years old he may well be displaying signs of early-onset dementia or even developed dementia, and a common personality change is that of developing a short temper...

There must have been some sort of altercation beforehand that wound the Thai guy up. He did say that Mr Collins gave him the middle finger. Maybe Collins became frustrated with the Thai man`s driving and lost his temper. Whatever; Collins is at fault 100% for using gestures that escalated the situation into physical violence instead of keeping cool and letting it go.

The outcome of this can only be that Collins will be ruined, probably both financially, maybe his freedom at threat and his future stay in Thailand in jeopardy. Do hope he feels all the trouble was worth it.

The Thai driver was driving like a normal Thai......me first, me first, me first, but the old codger took it to a whole new level with the machete action and trying to run him down, hot heads the pair of them!!!

If George keeps that up he'll only be in the news one more time.

The Thai should not have blocked him when he was trying to overpass him but the farang is a total nutter for trying to overpass a car there on that narrow road where it is not even allowed to overtake others vehicles the farang was clearly intending  bringing upcoming cars and motorbikes in big danger. Revoke his driving license he can go with the Song teaw to pick up his daughter. Getting a weapon from his trunk he clearly has some screws loose in his brain. Was the knock out punch needed not at all the cops was there already now 2 guys need to be booked.

Clearly attempted murder by conscious running over AND with machete. Total nut job farang 5 years and deport.

There are still some people saying the farang is not so bad and its his advanced age that caused it all.

If a tool like that runs me over and threatened / uses a machete on me like that there is a good chance I would have punched him too. No matter his age.. if your stupid enough to run someone over and use a machete to threaten and even take some swipes at someone. Then you should not be surprised if the person gets angry and takes it out on you.

He is lucky he only got punched.. just imagine the posts here if it was a Thai doing this to a farang.. but now farangs come out of the woodwork to protect this guy. Just accept he is scum and his age.. pff act your age if you want respect. If you act like a fool expect to be treated like one.

The video shows very clearly the white car overtaking very recklessly causing oncoming traffic to stop. Doesn't show too much of the farang driver driving anything but sedately until the white car tries, very dangerously, to stop the farang driver. The white car had also previously driven into the farang car so I'm not surprised that the tried to get away from the white car. I'm not sure I'd have stopped after all that. But then again, I've don't drive with a "gardening tool" in my car...

The video has been edited at 1:36, there is a big piece missing. Is that on purpose ?

Why report it as unedited footage when the important part is cut out ????????????????

In the video we can see a hand gesture from the white car but no middle finger gesture from the farang's car. Then again, the video has been edited so maybe it's in the missing footage...

So, he led a man who he had just tried to kill straight into the school where his young daughter is in attendance? Not very bright.  He conceived the child at the age of 69, was he on a high zinc diet or something? A man his age should be relaxing at home looking forward to the occasional visits from Grandkids, instead he is fighting his way through traffic in a clapped out old estate car with an old man's quick temper on him too.

And always drive a vehicle with heavily tinted windows if you are a foreigner driving in Thailand.

Indeed. There is an obvious edit (or recording fault) at the 1.35 mark, possibly quite a long one. What happened at that time would appear to be the initial cause of the whole incident. At the moment it is impossible to tell what happened then and so to know what actually started it.

One thing is certain: the Thai driver did deliberately swerve onto the opposite lane purely to block the farang from passing. In this respect this seems like typical kindergarten behaviour that one so often sees from so-called adult Thais.

But that doesnt stop the Aussie with the machete from being a prat.

I did take a liking to the driver of the SUV who pulled out and cleared off sharpish when the two cars stopped at 2.35

At least one person on Thai roads has a brain. :)

That video basically demolishes any argument of ' self defense ' the Brit had.( now it is established he is British) It's inexcusable be him British, American, German, Australian or from any other country. This was uncontrollable ' road rage ' and that is how it will be viewed in court.

A judge will see that video evidence and without hesitation find him guilty of attempted murder. He deliberately ran him down on top of the machete incident without provocation.

As I have said before, he better find plenty money and quick to clear this mess before the prosecutor gets hold of it, or he is going to jail for a period plus a deportation and blacklist.

Those on here trying to analyze and break down the video and blame the Thai driver and justify the behavior of the old guy, you are wasting your time, the evidence is damning.

Look, everybody KNOWS the vast majority of Thais are lousy drivers that undergo no training or driving test like we do in the West. They are known to be lousy drivers, and that is why they have the most dangerous roads in the world.

The Thai probably to this day does not think he was doing much wrong.Their brains are all over the place at the best of times, never mind when driving. The driving up until the incident was the normal bullshit driving that road users in Pattaya and busy cities have to put up with every day.

Whatever he did, he did not deserve this response from that idiot. The Brit would be arrested and charged in the UK or any other country too!!

He had no fear, he ran to get the machete because he lost his bloody temper, and he knew EXACTLY what he was doing, and I'll be damned if he used that tool for gardening. End of.
