webfact Posted October 17, 2017 Share Posted October 17, 2017 Sirikit Dam can receive another over 1.4 billion cubic meters of water BANGKOK, 17 October 2017 (NNT) – The Assistant Director of Sirikit dam has confirmed that it can handle another over 1.4 billion cubic meters of water and asked people to closely follow updates from relevant government agencies. Sirikit Dam Assistant Director Phiphat Khongsinthaweesuk disclosed that the water volume in Sirikit dam is currently over 8 billion cubic meters, or 84.59 percent of capacity. The dam can take on another 1.4 billion cubic meters and is receiving an inflow of over 30 million cubic meters per day. Phiphat said the dam has not released water since October 6 but will be able to retain additional water until the end of the rainy season, which is nearing.
