Pregnant cyclist killed in accident with van in Phitsanulok

A seven-months pregnant cyclist was killed when she was hit by a van in Phitsanulok's Mueang district early on Tuesday morning.

 

The accident happened at 12.30am on the Nakhon Sawan-Phitsanulok road in Ban Nongna village in Tambon Bothong.

The cyclist was identified as Somporn Panti, 40.

 

The van driver, Somnuek Ubolman, 60, told police that he was returning home from Chanthaburi. He said the road was dark and he did not see the cyclist in front of him.

 

The dead woman's husband, Pol Senior Sgt Maj Manootham Inthanrat, of Wachirabaramee police station, said his wife was due to deliver in the middle of December.

It was a wonder this even made the news. Thailand aiming for that no 1 position for most deadliest roads in the world. 

 

RIP to the women and unborn. 

 

Such as waste of life everyday on the roads here.
