superglue
Once a monk has ordained may he marry? If he is already married, when he ordains, are there any ramifications on an ethical basis.
Brucenkhamen
A monk can't get married, he would have to disrobe if he wanted to marry. A married man can become a monk, as temporary ordinations are quite common in Thailand this isn't such a big deal, you'd hope he'd only do so with his families blessing and not in circumstances that would leave his family unsupported. godblessemall
At the ordination as a monk he has to have his mother or father's permission to ordain. If married then he needs the permission of his wife. Also should not be in debt or trying to escape justice. The Buddha did not divorce his wife when he left to practice for 6 years, but his circumstances were not like those of ordinary men. Some women decry his leaving his family but he did so for the good of all, not for his own self.
