Sophon Cable TV reported on a South Korean who had a near death experience while out on a jet-ski off Jomtien Beach on Sunday.

The tourist - who was not named - was two kilometers offshore when a large wave caused him to come off.

Three Thai rescuers on an inflatable rushed to the scene and found the tourist clinging to his jets-ski for dear life.

Soon they had him on board and the vehicle was towed to shore.

They reported the tourist as saying that he felt he had died and come back to life.

He was full of praise for his rescuers and wai-ed the team in thanks.

Why so worried?  If he had a life vest on, just hang out for a while.  I bet he was not much of a swimmer. But I grew up in the Ocean State and swam at an early age. My biggest fear about being in the water at Jomtien would be getting sick from the polluted water or being threatened with huge jet ski damages when I get back to shore!  But being 2 km off shore is pretty far off shore.
