webfact
Sukhothai man, 55, killed by python captured from forest By The Nation A large python taken from the forest just days ago killed his captor in Sukhothai on Tuesday morning. The 3.3-metre-long snake, kept in an earthen water jar, is believed to have first bitten Sawan Tabklai, 55, on the hand before coiling around him and crushing him to death. Pol Lt Col Surapong Selarit, deputy commander of Kong Krailart police station, was summoned to the scene at 6am on Tuesday. Sawan’s sister Sawaeng Tabklai, 63, heard her brother calling for help and saw him struggling in the snake’s coils. By the time neighbours arrived to help, he was already dead from suffocation. The snake was captured and will be released back to the wild. Sawaeng said Sawan had caught the reptile only a few days earlier. She believed it bit his hand as he was feeding it in its holding jar. webfact
Snake kills Thai man who kept it in jar for three days Photo: Sanook Last night, a 55-year-old man in central Sukhothai province died in a fight with the 3-meter-long python that he had kept in a jar for three days. In a gruesome scene, the python wrapped around Sawan Tubklai’s neck and killed him, according to his 63-year-old sister, Sawang, who attempted to free him from the python’s grip. But to no avail, the snake would not let go. She screamed for help, but when their family arrived, Sawan was already dead, Sanook reported. PythonHouse
If you get bitten by a python (or other snake) and it will not let go and starts to coil, pour some alcohol into its mouth. It will immediately release. It can be any alcohol, even rubbing alcohol.

Yep, just rush inside the house, quickly of course, get to the liquor cabinet as quickly as you can and select the least liked single malt that you have stored away from the in-laws, de-cork it and pour a good measure into one of your whisky glasses, first checking of course if 1 or 2 lumps of ice before offering it to the snake. If successful, pour yourself a good measure of your best and settle down for a quiet dramm or two.

A better rule of thumb re constrictors would be to never feed or handle them without someone else being present or at least within earshot. Somewhat similar to my Spanish Phrase book that had the translation for "Help, I am falling down the mountain" !
