steelepulse
I'm trying to get my mechanic to fix the ground wire from my audio player in my car. What is the word for "ground wire"?

Sunak
You might well be understood just saying "groun(d)". English word spoken Thai style leaving out the final "d". As seen here (from an installation manual of a car audio):
Richard W
Is writing กราวด์ as in the example instead of กราวนด์ considered correct? FWIW, Google Translate translates the line with either spelling to 'Black wires connect to the ground'.

You might be right as transcription from foreign languages to Thai script is not really exact science. Both scripts can be found almost 50:50. The dictionaries are not helpful but กราวนด์ really looks more plausible.
tgeezer
Certainly there is no need for Thai words when there is a shorter English word. I had a question on the Road Traffic Act the other day so googled and got Pantip site. The Act refers to ทางเดินรถ and all the comments refer to เลน ! Sorry I digress. What does กล่องแปลงคำสั่ง mean? คำสั่ง Also the yellow wire marked +12V conncts into ACC but the black wire marked GND connects down to กราวด์ It must be jargon but an important connection to make so you would think that the place would be better defined in case Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
