Thaivisa exclusive: Beware the "Black Widow" - Norwegian's wife on dating site prowl for another victim

The Norwegian man who says he has been conned by his Thai wife out of 10 million baht has issued a warning to men going on dating sites after his wife went online to "find another victim".

Gotchaporn, who gives her age as 38, is on InternationalCupid.com. She wants to hook up with men aged 45-70.

She promises prospective men that "we will have good life together I hope".

But in a chilling extra she says that she is widowed.

Vidar Pettersen, 68, said that Gotchaporn, who is known by various spellings of her name and other names, is a threat to any man.

"She is evil inside and out," said the pensioner speaking from Bohol in the Philippines. "She is the true black widow".

Pettersen claims that his wife, aged 39, has ripped him off after conniving with the police and a police lover who was her second romantic interest on the force.

He wants a human rights lawyer to take up his case as he seeks justice.

He claimed earlier this week that he was framed for ownership of an illegal gun that was found in his Mercedes-Benz. But he was being held in a Nong Khai prison at the time it was found.

He was in prison for a previous claim of illegal gun ownership dating back to 2013 that was brought after police had no evidence to hold him on a misdemeanor at their house in 2016.

Thaivisa has seen police documents in Thai and English in which the wife - named as Konchaphon On-phong - claims that she was scared of her husband and unbeknown to him hid the gun under a seat in his car when they quarreled.

She said she had no idea if it was real or even loaded but claimed it was his.

When the cops turned up at a domestic dispute at their house in Tha Bo district of Nong Khai she allegedly told them about it and Pettersen was arrested as a result.

Pettersen has told Thaivisa it was his wife's gun made by a friend and was used to frame him.

He said that his wife sold his car and that police were driving around in his Mercedes-Benz.

Following the second case he was deported indefinitely and is now considering his options in the Philippines where he is living off a $3,000 pension.

Thaivisa has also seen a copy of a Thai legal agreement related to a loan of 2 million baht Pettersen made to his wife with her offering the security of a 33 rai plot of land that was supposed to be for the family's future and used for an aquaponics project.

Interest was agree on the loan but Pettersen said that his wife stole the document when she disappeared with his son.

The couple have a six year old son, Arthur, who lives with the mother. The Norwegian is desperate to see his son again.

Regarding his wife appearing on InternationalCupid he claimed that she had gone on the site looking for a partner ever since his son was just one.

"She may be looking for another victim," he said. "I would warn anyone who might fall into her trap to be very careful".

Seems to me that he invested to much in things that he actually can not own in Thailand. It also looks like he took all his money and put it in a Thai bankaccount, to be frozen at any time.

I am not saying he is at fault here, and not saying that he had it coming. Just trying to state that it was not a very clever and smart move.

We have in our village a German who married a local, lady

Sent her money every month to build their house on the block they bought,

he came back nothing had been spent on the house after lock up stage,

on his return she had  locked and chained the front door ,denied him access, also reported him to the police as a stalker

, the head of village could also not do anything for him in any mediation as she was away with her thai boyfriend,

she also has another farang  on the hook,

The German has since gone home thankful that he still has assets at home.

Another case to add to the list,

how many we don't hear about due to embarrassment !

Hopefully, some Nigerian will scam her. Obviously, the benz was not in his name, or it could not have been sold. Some guys really need to wise up - don't invest in LoS what you can't afford to lose.

Never heard that one before

Life rule #1 ,be caring and compassionate But never give more than you can afford to lose...

I was talking to an Aussie guy at Xmas who was full of plans to invest in his new g/f's business back in Thailand.

I quoted the "Never invest any more than you can afford to lose..." line which had no impact whatsoever.

I then referred him to TVF saying that the forum could perhaps point him towards the pros and cons.Absolute lack of interest.

I then enjoyed my lunch and a beer and walked away.

Good for you for trying but you cannot help those that will not see.

Not everyone is watching ever single baht. Loads of guys are old and wealthy and just want to help and are in no way looking for repayment.

Pointing him to TV for investment advice? That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. Most are busted arsed pensioners or balloon chasing teachers [emoji3]

Her and many others. It's a cottage industry, and you're better off staying out of the village.

Id say its changed over the last 15 years more so with  the  internet arrival. I know  a  few wives from the  village married to foreigners all are  fine decent  women, many out there now aren't and I'd  be very wary these  days of  looking for a wife

Unbelievable so many are so trusting and careless. Even if you have complete trust in your wife or partner , you must be aware of what could happen if she were to die. Family members would be on your doorsteps to take possession of what they would consider now belonging to them. Very easy to buy vehicles in your own name. I built a house for us. Of course the land is in my wife's name but through a lawyer registered a lease that protects me. Also building permit was taken out in my name.

I probably will die before my wife and of course l want the house to go to her. If your potential wife or partner is offended by doing this , then maybe time to move on.

AsianDating, com is another site that scam artists use. While the site itself seems fine, there are definitely some questionable ones on there. A couple of years back, I put my profile on the site. I never pursued anything, but would get "interest" and "message" sent alerts. I recently was contacted by a woman named "Lucy". Her name on her Email address was Sujatal Pang.  She said she was from Malaysia. On her profile, she said she was a widow. I thought she was OK, so we sent some messages back and forth.  She then asked me to chat by video, so we did. She asked me about my financial worth.  Although it is decent, it "wasn't what she was looking for".   I had no problem with that because I wasn't "searching" anyway.  So, we parted.  Recently, the site sent me the latest "matches".  One of them was the same person with a different name. The name she used this time was Tracy.  The picture was the same. This is the picture:

Which is exactly the same as "don't invest in the LoS."  I keep only enough money in country to pay my bills for the next month or so.  That way if I lose it all, I'm fine.

I too have given up, it’s pointless. You can actually see the looks on their faces change as soon as you tell them to tread carefully as all may not all be as it seems. Placing doubts on their dream scenario and new found love is like a heroin addict awaiting their fix, warnings or advice to the contrary are like bullets to superman! So on the very very odd occasion when I am regailled with one of these stories from one of these poor souls I simply tell them what they want to hear...”good for you mate and the best of luck” with the cynical side of me finishing the sentence off in my mind...”you’re gonna need all the luck you can get”.
