Dream on,unfortunately its only in dream mate...girls like this only stay at the hotel with her Thai man

Chinese man. I saw one of these trophies with her Chinese mafia boss in Krabi at the hotel pool. An impressive pair, straight out of a Bond movie. Hers too.

Unfortunately, she's the only attractive Chinese I've ever seen in Thailand. Most are truly fugly.

I dont think the percentage of passport holders will rise significantly. The reason is most of the Chinese people are financially poor.

But they have such massive. numbers the small percentage is greater than wealth Europeans and it is nearer for them. They want funky, raucous Pattaya not sterile and anodyne Hainan.  Clean up Pattaya and there will be no Pattaya. Because Pattaya is a state of mind and freedom.

The problem I see is they want to see a raucous Pattaya, not participate in it. And Pattaya needs a large number of participants to flourish. Otherwise it becomes a museum.

What makes you think Trump will have his way with China? China has several thousand yrs experience

in international relations, Trump has only about a year -- and has not been very successful.

Also, China today has military and economic power rivaling that of the U.S. -- You can bet your boots

China will not be intimidated or flamboozled.

China is a non-starter,as far as international relations,it looks like it needs another few thousand more,  China is going down the toilet

Love the logic of comparing a man to a country. So much for your credibility. Moreover, Trump seems to be doing OK unless you've been listening to too much fake news.

You obviously know nothing about China. Does all your info come from Fox News right-wing

propaganda?

Maybe you should take a cold, hard look at the real world. You'll discover that in a few years

China is expected to surpass the U.S. in both military and economic power. Then what will all

the John Bolton right-wingers do with their 1900s-era gun-boat view of the world?

This is how great powers fall from power -- complacency, overblown self-image and very little

knowledge of history.

What complete and utter tosh! This has to be most misinformed cmoment on the entire thread.

It has been a characteristic of U.S. foreign policy for years to misinterpret and underestimate other countries...usually to the expense of the U.S..

At present China is setthe for yetthe another mmassive economic exp a nation. Firstly they have a huge untapped home market, about which the U.S. can do nothing, secondly they are about to develop the Westen have of the nation, a whole world almost as big as the original just about to explode into action.

Their is nothing the U.S. can do about that either.

The truth is that USA needs China a lot more than China needs the USA.

If you really want to freak out just look at the amount of American gold and finances China owns.

I know that the companies and properties  bought by the Chinese in the UK; and there are plenty; are almost certainly never going to be nationalised. I don't know if people are aware how much they have embedded themselves into other countries and how reliant countries are on Chinese investment. It is economic infiltration and not all by stealth.

A new nuclear power station in the UK would not be built without Chinese investment that was courted by both the UK and French governments.

When Trump leaves office there will be at least three quarters of the century to go.

When Li goes in China is probably down to nature and he can pick his successor whilst he is at it. This makes it easier to predict future tourist trends from China; policy is constant and not subject to change by virtue of a pesky democratic process. The Communists love their 5 and 10 year plans.

There are millions of Li’s in China, which one are you referring to ?

Well said, Airbagwill, the most intelligent post I've seen so far. Most of the folks here seem to be clueless about China.

Could be. The kind of area in question is Pattaya and the kind of Chinese in question the tourists flocking here. The trophy wives are probably somewhere in St.Tropez or who knows, not in our beloved shitehole.

Dipstick, sorry, it was meant as tongue-in-cheek. I just couldn't resist. When I was in bootcamp many years ago,

"dipstick" was used as a euphemism for "dipshxt." But maybe civilian wouldn't make the same connection. Hope

you enjoy the rest of your day.

Well, the Chinese cake is HUGE and Thailand gets - once more again - the shorter end of the stick because the product is not up to standard (anymore).
Wealthy Chinese spenders are all over Europe, spending five digit Baht amounts for accommodation per night, dine and wine for hundreds of Euros per meal and happily return. Most of them behave also better, i.e. use the toilet and dont shout across the entire restaurant.

Why should a well-to-do tourist argue with a nothing-else-but-Thai-speaking cabbie, get blocked in Bangkok's notorious traffic jams after having queued for hours to get through immigration into the country? Go figure ............
