Where to buy coconut oil

Recommended Posts

I have to go to Hat Yai tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows of a place that sells good-quality, reasonably priced coconut oil...any help much appreciated.

I don't know about Hat Yai Supermarkets but all the usual suspects (Fresh Market/Tops/Villa/Foodland) in BKK carry OTOP Virgin coconut oil sized both for cooking or cosmetic use at a reasonable price.

7-Eleven but maybe not conforming to your statement above. My wife gives it to her dog to keep his coat healthy?

Wife's suggested the "organic" shop in Hat Yai Nai, she's bought coconut oil from there before.

It's on the left hand side of Thanon Phetkasem as you're heading out of town.

Thanks for the photo and coordinates. Unfortunately I read the post too late and drove cluelessly past it today; but I will pick it up next time I'm in town.

I finally got to check that place out yesterday. It is convenient to the Immy office, just a few clicks west. The store had a wide selection of coconut oils, but none were cheaper than you can get them online.

The staff all behaved as if they really didn't want to be there.

I was also in the market for real coffee. They only had Doi Thung, which was way overpriced.

I don't understand why there is no place in Hat Yai to buy cheap coffee beans like they have in Phuket.

Anyway, thanks again for the tip Stocky. If I find a better deal I will let you all know.
