THE Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD) will consider poaching allegations in its corporate governance score for Italian-Thai Development in this year’s survey, said Bandid Nijathaworn, president and chief executive of the association.

“The allegation may be a personal issue, but it could affect the scoring of corporate governance for the listed company,” he said.

Bandid was referring to Italian-Thai president Premchai Karnasuta, who was arrested over allegations of poaching a critically endangered black leopard and other animals in the Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary.

According to a 2017 IOD survey, Italian-Thai scored very high in corporate governance with a four-star rating. The IOD is a non-profit organisation designed to improve directors’ professionalism and corporate governance in Thailand.

And does anybody care what some NGO thinks?

They are jumping on the bandwagon for all the right reasons.  The more the merrier.   ITD will just want this guy gone in a month or two saying he would like to pursue other interests like littering, bringing back extra leaded gasoline,  high content sulfur bunker oil or orphan eviction.

The elites need a cleansing anyway within their circle, and the government needs to look credible.
