Police in Nakhon Nayok north of Bangkok said they had arrested a 26 year old man who was filmed on a Facebook video threatening fellow passengers on a minivan.

He told police that he was high on drugs but admitted that it was him.

"Manut Pa" had posted the footage saying that the man was a fellow passenger who started talking to him and his friend on the journey from Future Park Rangsit to Ban Na. After a stop at a gas station the situation escalated as the man asked who they knew in Ban Na.

He was filmed threatening the passengers with a gun and using abusive language. The posters said they did not know him or recognize him at all.

They reported the matter to Ongkharak district police who found him shortly after in his room near the university in Klong Yai.

He was named as Sorawut or "Tom", 26. He admitted that it was him in the video.

He blamed Ya Ba.

Police told INN that he has a history of violence against his mother and other relatives.

He has been detained as police seek the posters of the clip to confirm him as the gunman. He had a Thai made gun in his possession.

If he had pulled the trigger he could also have blamed Ya Ba for that and all would be good..................

Absolutely no excuse for being intoxicated with a firearm. Legally held or not.

Should be extra punishment for those who commit crimes while intoxicated. Its not an excuse its something that makes it worse.

I despise drugs and what they do to people/make people do.

Just make an airtight case... but seems to me confession and video evidence together should make a strong case already. I can't see this guy as someone with power or money... wonder why they are stalling.

Oh they used to do just that under Thaksins leadership. It was great, and Bangkok had never been as safe for normal law-abiding people in years.

That is an outright lie. Many innocents were killed and selling drugs does not the death penalty anyway. But many many non users were set up and murders by proxy to settle scores.  Only deranged and damaged people believe in such shoot to kill policies. They should be locked up for life as they are more dangerous than recreational drug users. Such sociopaths and facsists should be closely monitored.  The history of the pursuit of oblivion is thousands of years old. The repressive  drug laws less than a hundred years old. And it was a gun he was waving around, not a banana. He is the kind of person who was hired by Thaksin and now Duerte and in the past American paid death squads.

All that post shows is that you weren't living in Bangkok at the time.
