Just walk away...

That's fine but what is your sat down eating?

I just spent a month in Pattaya and eat breakfast (and dinner frequently) at the same place in LK Metro...its a never ending stream of fake watches, Viagra and tourist tat sellers shoving there wears uninvited in your face every 3 mins sometime while you still have a folk in your hand...some times there is one standing behind the other waiting his term to pester you.

Do give me that **** about their only trying to make a living, eventually you just want to snap and tell them all to <deleted>!

No sympathy for these watch guys. They are constantly giving people the sh__s hassling people while they are trying to relax or sit down and eat to sell a stupid watch that 90% of people don't give a sh_t about. I have had them get angry at me before for just laughing in their face.

A average low income Thai will earn around 400 baht a day therefore they only need to sell 1 or 2 of these to have done a valid days work.

Same with taxi drivers that lay around in the sun all day cracking nuts and muttering like fat monkeys... One ripoff 500 baht journey down the road for some gullible tourist and they have done enough for the day. So unfortunately they won't be going away anytime soon.

The so called "American soldier" with the balding head looks too old to be a soldier. Fake information from him.

That is an uninformed thing to say. "Balding" = old to you? My sister started teasing me about my bald spot when I was 16.
Active duty personnel are required to retire at age 62, unless they are field/ flag grade or medical officers, who in some instances can remain until 68.

Not so fast my friend. I was an American soldier with a balding head. Thankfully, my time in the army came to an end. Unfortunately, the bald spot kept growing.

So, 3-5 Thai jump an American, because he wouldn't buy one of their fake watches, and half a dozen other farang just sit on their bar stools and watch.  Pathetic all the way around.

Oh sure, they should have jumped off those stools half drunk and got involved in a fight, beat the crap out of the Thais, risk getting seriously injured, arrested, go to jail and possibly deported for some guy they don't know.

Wow............

Forget the hair look at his face, obviously middle aged.

Obvious? How so? If I were to see you in person, are you sure you wouldnt look 5years older than your actual age? They say life is full of surprises! =) That's not important. You might like to know that from Capt to Lt Col, the average age would be 35 onwards.

Anyone know what part of Great Britain the topless  guy with the tatoo is from at the end of vid? Sounds like a mumbling moron. Amazing that so many posters still don’t know the American guy was the one with white/ light colored shirt and not the guy with the darker shirt being helped at the end. Even with a clear video some don’t see it.

I can't what really happened in the video.

Is it possible the American threw the first punch and the other people jumped in to stop him?

If not a physical punch then maybe a psychic one - it may have had something to do with the soldiers "attitude". I have been offered fake watches many times over the years and have never ended up in trouble after a "politely" no thanks....:coffee1:

Not necessarily so, Soldiers in their 40's are a common site in the US, going on multiple deployments to Afghanistan and other duty stations. Maybe Thailand has young soldiers but here in the US some enlist in their 20's and stay for 10 or 20 years so it is not uncommon to see bald guys in all the branches.

American soldiers are all volunteers, no conscripts, and many stay until retired after twenty or more years so that will account for older men and women in the services.  Don't make comments when you don't know the facts.

US soldier in Pattaya brawl with group of Thai vendors

A fight at the weekend in Pattaya between an American and a group of Thai vendors allegedly trying to sell fake watches is gaining renewed interest online.

Facebook user Julie Wolstencroft recorded the fight, which took place on Sunday at about 5pm, and then posted the video on her wall.

The 1.41minute clip showed a foreign man wearing a white Tshirt throwing punches amid a group of Thai men. The fight seemed to end after the foreign man’s friends pulled him away.

However, the Thais followed the foreigners and the exchange of punches resumed until a policeman was alerted and went to the scene.

Before the officer arrived, some Thais and foreigners appeared to try to stop the encounter while others just watched. Some foreigners were also seen in the video running away from the scene.

The video showed a Thai man suffering from a nose bleeding. The police officer then talked to both sides and took them to a police station in the vicinity.

Reportedly the foreign man is an American soldier who was attending the Cobra Gold military exercise and enjoying a break with friends in Pattaya.

Apparently a Thai vendor insistently tried to sell the man a fake watch, which was refused, leading to a loud argument. The vendor reportedly threw the first punch, leading the American to fight back and the vendor’s friends joining the fracas.

It was unclear on Tuesday whether any charges had been filed or if anyone was injured.

Ain't you splendid?

You're in da groove,man.

It was not ment as an assertion from my side rather a healthy input, neither does it justify the sellers reaction of throwing the first punch if this was the case - just a reminder on that we are all a part of this Circus where no one has the right to raise himself over others without to be prepared to take the consequences and the forum arena is no exception....:coffee1:
