I did not indicate everything in life should be free- but I do believe that prices are way too high for medical care and it is driven by for profit insurance; for profit hospitals and doctors and pharmaceutical companies as well as for profit medical schools.  While doctors and technicians should be paid a fair wage- they should not be paid as they are now. Any yes- I would make medical schools lower their tuition and pay for it by the Government. I would also indicate that people in the medial industry who get free medical training be sent to areas which are rural and lacking in medical personnel to pay back their free training.

In addition, I would force the Pharmaceutical industry to lower their prices and if they  refused I would break their patents and establish a Government Pharmaceutical Industry and make the drug at cost.

In addition, I would indemnify medical personnel against law suits and take the lawyers out of the equation. Costly lawsuits-many which have no merit- have caused a huge increase in medical care.

As far as research- I can assure you I know this subject well. I have a background in Insurance; have worked in Hospitals and know exactly how they work and how the pricing is done. I would suggest those who doubt any of what I say do your own research- I have no intention of doing it for you. And if you don't believe me- no problem- continue to  pay and pay.

Until the World accepts the fact that healthcare is a human right guaranteed by the United Nations Declaration of Rights nothing will change. Your Governments will tax you and use your money for bombs and bullets; for profit doctors and hospitals will become  hugely wealthy; the pharmaceutical industry will limit your access to life saving drugs and a certain portion of  your fellow citizens will die because of this.

Is this really the World  you want?

The current world is preferable to the one you advocate.  Thank god you are not in charge.

If I was in charge the World would be compassionate- there would be no homeless- there would be no poverty and I would make sure people like you and your ilk paid  for it.

Don't believe me- continue to pay and castigate those who can't but as sure as the sun rises  and  sets- what I propose will come ...People are fed up with the current system.  Nuff said!!!

Not sure what koolaid you are drinking, but once you wake up from your fantasy you will have a nasty headache!

Thank god you will never be in charge of anything except your revolutionary fantasies, so the world can carry on with its usual business.

It's not about me or you - it's about creating a society in which people get the healthcare they need regardless of whether they have money; who they are; where they are or any other extraneous factor.

It's also about creating a caring society in which people can float ideas, have them examined and adopted without being attacked  or labelled.

It's a sad commentary on the state of the World- when providing free healthcare is considered revolutionary.  Unbelievable!!!

The end result is that no one will pay thousands to go to medical school for 7-10 years as  they won't make any money...oh wait, lemme guess....you are going to say that should be free as well.  Guess what?  If everything is free in your utopian world, no-one will do anything!    Rather than using limited personal experience from one case, do some real research and report back for peer analysis on a separate thread.  The feedback will be interesting.

Where on earth do you go to medical school for 10 years?

What is more unbelievable is that people like you exist.  You sound like a UNESCO project gone wrong!

No bananas are grown where I come from. Australia grows bananas. Aussies seem to be slow learners if they need 14 years in medical school.

Oh cry me a river! Your maudlin unapologetic trolling and suggestions are too much.  Your ideas don't wash and have been called out.  Nothing personal about it.  You haven't provided any of the requested data to back your opinion. I have tried to help you by offering kind advice, but I cannot educate those who can't be educated or who are delusional.   I expect your apology for your wasting my time.

Since when do I have to do your research for you- I did mine decades ago and have a Master's Degree to show for it. You have nothing except an opinion and you cannot show any research to disprove my opinion. Admit it- your are out of your element. You cannot argue a point except through personal attacks.

This thread is about medical issues and I will not engage in personal attacks as I Mentioned before  -it is not about your or me. Continue your personal attacks if you desire because you certainly have no ability to respond in an intelligent way.

So many people were having similar thoughts. But it looks like the Communism doesn't work well.

GFM seems to be a very lucrative business. I've done my donation for somebody else, and will not do it again.

Australia is not the world. Just one country. Ever considered that different countries have different requirements?

No one ever said it was.  One counter-example is all that is necessary to disprove a false statement.  This was provided.  Lots of other examples, but I 'll let you hunt those down.

Not sure why you have to resort to ad hominem attacks.  You have made alot of false points and have no back up data.  When you have done that, come back and share it for peer analysis.  Lots of people with Master's these days, not impressed at all.  With my Doctorate, you are right that I am well above your element!

I have already informed you- I have no intention to do your research for you.  None of my statements are false. I am very secure and confident in my premise as I have decades of personal experience on the subject. You will never change my mind and I am sure I will never change yours. I shall no longer waste time  on trying o convince you to open your mind to new ideas.

I wish the patient in this thread the best and a full recovery and to ignore anyone who tries to blame him for his circumstances.

Thank you for finally admitting after dozens of posts that this issue is about an unfortunate person who had an accident, and not about your high-falutin Unesco style ideas based on decades of unsubstantiated "experience", unsupported by facts or research

I think you not understand the system of an insurance!

The idea of an insurance is not the become back what you paid. The Idea behind this system is that you will be covered in the case of the cases.

many Insurance will still insure you if you start with them before the age of 66 or 70. And if they not do.. you should have done a research of your insurance before. Sometimes the cheapest is not always the best!

>"Sometimes the cheapest is not always the best!"

Well... obviously.  A Chevy is not as good as a Bentley Continental GT.    But a lot more people can afford a Chevy than can afford a Bentley.

Most people do not have the money for the best.  Not everyone has a well padded bank account going around looking down on us lowly peons trying to make do with what we have and travel or stay and live in south east Asia.

I never told you have to take the most pricy one. As this also probably not will be the best.

But you should look that you take the best for your option and not only go for the cheapest.

You already compare a Chevy, which probably would not be the cheapest. Maybe the Chevy is the right choice.

But with your statement about "looking down on us lowly peons" I become understanding that you yourself looking down on yourself?

I don't care on how much money others have as I am not rich as well. But I am happy

Yes I was aware of that.  That is why you have 45 year olds who have been working on the PHDs for 20 years already with no end in sight.  This kind of system is a disincentive to achievement.

The leftist/socialist lie about the government providing free “stuff”, like college or university education.

Don’t kid yourself. Someone is indeed paying for it all. And governments have no money of their own. Either they heavily tax their citizens to pay for it, or they borrow the money and put the burden of paying for it on the backs of future generations, or a combination of the two.

   It’s NOT FREE ! !

The genius here is obviously the one classifying the monkey.

After a couple  of years I got used to the beggars on the street, Then came the farrang beggars,,, back(Pack) beggars and now the internet beggars......

What next...... "obesity surgery" beggars........

Your post is so true. I was just trying to find the one guy who's broken his spine four times, all rips, a serious brain injury and a few more, just to see how he's doing.

Unfortunately, when typing Thailand you will find very strange GFM beggars. One guy needs money to move to Thailand for a visa, etc..https://www.gofundme.com/daveinthailand

Then the two ladies who were arrested in CM: https://www.gofundme.com/release-misty-and-dannielle-fund

Another guy wants to help sick animals on Ko Phangan....

   https://www.gofundme.com/help-for-sick-animals-of-thailand

I could go on and on and on and I've totally lost my trust in certain social websites that take a good amount of cash. GFM, for example, 5 % of each donation, plus the payment processor fee of 2.9 % + $ 0.30 per donation.

It's of course not in their interest to investigate if people are telling the truth, or only "making some money."
