webfact
Prayut to be invited to officially open new permanent border checkpoint in Sa Kaew By The Nation Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will be invited to chair the opening ceremony of a new permanent border checkpoint in Sa Kaew's Klong Had district. Sa Kaew governor Pornpoj Penpas said on Tuesday that the opening ceremony might be held in May, pending the prime minister's invitation. He said the Interior Ministry's directive to upgrade the temporary checkpoint in Ban Khao Din village in Klong Had to a permanent one was published in the Royal Gazette on March 15. Pornpoj said he visited the governor of Cambodia's Battambang province on Monday to discuss the opening of the checkpoint. He said they agreed that officials of the two provinces will man their offices at the checkpoint on March 30, a day before the checkpoint begins officially operating on a permanent basis. Pornpoj said he would inspect the checkpoint at 6am on March 30 and his Battambang counterpart was invited to observe the operation. Cambodian migrants can use a border pass to seek work permits through the checkpoint after it opens, the governor added. OJAS
So yet another destination for fleets of manically-driven border-run minivans to head for, presumably?
Sydebolle
Maybe I am completely wrong but this border post has been open and there for years; so is it an „opening repetition“ or a „rehearsal“ for bigger things to come in the future?
