Crackdown on illegal foreigners: Many claiming to be students to get fake visas

Why don`t you try reading the OP. It says; Several language schools and what is loosely termed as "international" schools are now set to face charges after the Thai police operating under the "X-Ray Outlaw Foreigner" banner have uncovered a network of illegal activity that includes staff of the schools themselves and corrupt immigration officials.

Yes, so they will start charging "international schools" for illegal practices - MAYBE.

I wonder how many of these schools have backdoor fixers at immigration offices around the country.

As usual, vilify the foreigners for availing themselves of services offered and promoted by Thai companies. Take the blame off corrupt Thai businesses and government servants, who continue to make a big profit from foreigners. When someone finds out - throw them under the bus.

So just get immigration to check the teaching ability of any African's with a teaching visa on arrival. Should not be hard to figure out who's  a fake. Pay me a salary and I'll do it myself.

Not quite sure what a teaching visa is?

Exactly my thoughts. It's like arresting the junkie while the dealer goes scot-free. When I attended a Thai language school with a valid visa, out of ten students in class eight were from Africa on a student visa. After three weeks only 3 people (including me) showed up for class.

And I would like to see a, systematic, 'crackdown' on all these schools, NOT on the foreign teachers (what would be the usual Thai 'reflex' when illegal aliens are concerned), with all the ones found ...in illegal situation AUTOMATICALLY being issued a workpermit, ...paid in full by the school they teach at.

Why does it bother you so much?

Are you a teacher?

Because they are a (Big) joke, much like everything else in Thailand.

What do you mean everything else in Thailand is a joke?

Seems a rather strange thing to say if you choose to live here.

Rather a nasty thing to say.

Young purple traveling the world making an honest living.

Out of interest, what age did you move permanent to Thailand. Also what is your job?

Ah! Student visas, not teachers. That explains it. Always thought it was a bit weird - all these Africans teaching English, and in "International Schools" at that. We all know that "White Man's Privilege" is still fully operational here. Probably the reason a lot of guys come here (oh dear, unintentional pun). Anyway, teaches you to be careful about anything you read. A lot is lost in translation. Mind you, makes for a good headline. Ha!

I know a joke on those lines but it would get me a long posting holiday.

Didn't know about the pilot thing. Yeah, I had a pair of parachute wings stuffed away in a drawer somewhere, lost now I think. The truth is once you've gained these things they mean nothing. Move on to the next thing. Displaying them is a bit crass.

Woohoo

About time  I went to school for 2 years and went to every lesson.

Half of the students don't   they take the piss and its not just the dark skinned people

It is from all walks of life  the French would be in the top 10

As for Ed department at emigration corrupt is not the word  for them. (THE MAGIC DRAW),

And the department of education when you do your test well thats a laugh

Good on you big joke you  should be called

GET THINGS DONE   about time get rid of the trash  it <deleted> it up for us honest farangs

Doesn't matter if they go to lessons or not, maybe they prefer to self-study. Personally I read and write Thai but I didn't go to the lessons, I just learn better on my own.

What matters is if they are commit crimes, usually that's the non western ones, hence you don't see westerners arrested as part of ed visa crackdowns. Those French guys were probably honest non-criminals just like yourself.

Perhaps making a larger economic contribution to the country because of all the extra time they spent working on some online business at home, not commuting to a school and sitting in class.

His name is not big joke, it's , "very sweet joke"

Joke refers to a rice dish usually consumed at breakfast. It has absolutely nothing to do with the English connotation. You never met a girl called Porn?

Ah, it doesn't bother you? At all? All these foreign people taken advantage of by their employers in Thailand out of sordid greed? Sorry, for me, it does matter, a teacher here, or not.
