A 66 year old American man has been arrested in Chiang Rai after a sting operation found he was helping to run a human trafficking operation offering Burmese girls for sex.

"Ken" was met at Mae Fa Luang airport where he arrived in a Toyota car. Unsuspecting he then led investigators to the Piyaporn Place Hotel at the border in Mae Sai where a Burmese woman called Lawin Maew, 35, brought two Burmese women for sex.

When the man conducting the sting paid the agreed 3,000 baht for the women - aged 25 and 18 - the American and his accomplice and the sex workers were all arrested.

Albertson has been charged with human trafficking and will have his visa rescinded.

After the resolution of the human trafficking case he will be deported. He is considered a danger to Thailand.

Thai police are also contacting their counterparts in Myanmar to expand the inquiry to the associates of Lawin Maew.

well he is also a danger to Thailand because he interferes with where the distribution of income should really be going

No! He is a danger to Thailand, because he deals with human trafficking and that there is proof of that.
The only thing you are doing is making up a side story totally without proof, and putting the blame on things that are not included in the case or in the news.

It would have been better to state that this was another good work done to get rid of the garbage in Thailand.

I know of this man, actually... I have met him a few times through a mutual Thai friend. Went to see him in Mae Sai jail today but I just missed him being transferred to Chiang Rai. People have a right to their opinion, personally I'm surprised as is my Thai friend. Then again nothing much surprises me these days. I'm going to try offer him some assistance if I can.

I wonder if this is the same Kenneth Albertson that often shares his opinion in the BKK Post?

Seems like it.

Funny how he was so critical of Thailand and the way things work here. But prostituting Burmese girls seems to be no problem in his books.

Foreign garbage, maybe?

Do some research in, for example, Craigslist.

Plenty on offer, even "guided" sextours into Birma, organised by a local group with local guides.

Do you fish?

Ever catch one?

Ever catch a lot?

Ever catch them all?

because you can’t catch everyone is not an excuse to catch no one.

Innocent until proven guilty. Let’s wait and see. Chances are  that from the surface he looks like a bad guy doing wrong things but this is a place where you never can be sure of the facts.

he was caught red handed, what more prove do you need?
