If they are too stupid to get it then don't worry about it. There are a lot of TV posters who need new light bulbs plugged in to their brains so they can read what is written not what they think is written. Suetape
Pattaya (now the walking street) in the late 60s. My wife and I lived there then when we both worked at Utapo. I’m not taking credit for taking this photo.

dufusdonald
The Thais know what they are doing here. That sign is for all the drunk Aussie's who will take it literally and increase their speed and get a ticket down the road. These are incredibly smart folks we are dealing with here. Did you leave your sense of humour in the locker room? Who's talking about an apologist? Who is talking about justifying the unjustifiable? No one! Sydebolle
In a "common sense" society someone at the public works department would look up, who got the job awarded and then follow it up accordingly. I mean, you cannot be THAT stupid - or am I wrong again ?

ChouDoufu
no, not only in thailand..... at least the chinese engineers in kunming had the sense to install a huge concrete block at the base of the tree to protect the bark. note the absence of streetlights, in a region where drivers often drive without lights at night to conserve gasoline.
