Two different ways using the symbol

Can cause confusion.

one is a nazi symbol, one is an ancient Hindu symbol and you will find it on many buddha statues and pictures from other countries outside of Thailand.  It predates Nazis and Christianity by a long shot

Yes, I know, that but I reckon 99% of western people only see it meaning one thing. If others are genuinely unaware of WW2 events they may not realise the nazi connection.

Maybe !!!!

I'm guessing he isn't from the part of France that was ruled by the Vichy government, during World War II....

the story does not belong to anyone,
are the winners who wrote the story,
this French is too young (or too manipulated) to understand

And any dislike of snowflakes will be deleted Hitler did just that if anyone disagreed with him.Personally it just reminds me of Evil, not glorification of a rather short legged thug.

So what happen to the Vender ?

Is he still selling this shit in his shop ?

Nothing would happen to this vendor as there is no law to stop the selling of this stuff in Thailand or the USA

Ha-ha .

Ban Hitler photos because he is a bigot , but allow CGV photos because he isnt a bigot and people are not trying to emulate Hitler by banning things and being a bigot.

Ban photos of Hitler because he tried to ban things and we dont want people trying to ban things again ....................

if you mean that hitler wanted to ban treating jews and others as humans I would have to agree. ha ha

Yeah, it is fashionable to assassinate one's political foes. Do you really want to stick with that argument? Leftist hypocrisy is so galling.

doesnt really matter, the fact is that apart from a few like minded dictators no one is trying to emulate anything apart from his hat

would this Frenchman have run to the police if there had been red flags with Stalins face on them (Stalin and communism is responsible for the deaths of 100 million people worldwide)?..of course not..people dont seem to understand that the winners write the history books and demonize the losers to white wash themselves....also because National Socialism extols people and country first ( a mantra that sums up the Thais by the way) it has to be suppressed by all means possible because it doesnt fit in with the elites goal of open borders and mass immigration

anyhow, the Nazi take on the Swastika, was to reverse the direction; and the original Good Luck of the Swastika was then also retrofitted to sit at 45 degrees, denoting it's Evil third cousin twice removed...

there'd be likely more reaction by Thai authorities; if someone were to try to sell a Tshirt, with an E-Cigarette image on it

Along with a few other posters, I also find the selling of Nazi memorabilia in very bad taste. But the seller is doing this to make money and probably has no idea of the Nazi history.

Buyers of these items will either be Thai (and they also are likely to be ignorant of Nazi history), or right-wing, European fascists who either know the history very well, or have a warped view of that history.

The police won't stop the guy selling these items. But kudos to the Frenchman for making the police aware that some foreign tourists find their display and sale to be in bad taste.

He is still selling , maybe will take a few days break . Same with dildos , illegal to sell but sold openly in street stalls in Pattaya.

And this Nazi stuff is not even illegal , so don't expect any crack downs.

You're right. It isn't illegal. But that doesn't make it a good idea for such inflammatory Nazi glorification merch to be sold so openly here either.

As far as sex toys yes they are illegal. Also not great to be sold openly on the streets. Better in a more private shop where customers could feel comfortable to browse. There was before such a shop here in a mall. Police closed it of course.

On the streets like here? Practically no. It would be too inflammatory. Such would be sold typically online.

Let me see if I get this right.  Americans think it should be illegal in Thailand but it's legal in America and I assume the UK with that prince guy wearing a nazi outfit and all.

Although this isnt in France .

He seems to think that everyone should adhere to his way of thinking and anyone who thinks differently should be banned .

Maybe Hitlers time in France did have some effect on French people after all

I think Hitler's  time in France created extreme hate for the man.

Do you disagree?

Americans think a lot of different things. I never said it should be illegal here or not illegal. That's up to the Thais. I do think and know selling that Nazi glorification garbage openly on the streets is inflammatory. It is good that the Thai authorities become more aware of that and add that information to any policies they may have on such matters.

Kind of like a Thai telling an American they have a prostitution problem.

Inflammatory for a Thai to do but acceptable for an American or Brit.  Tell me the difference between a Thai school kid dressing up like a nazi for a play day and Prince Harry doing the same thing?  I get that it is inappropriate but if the British Royal family don't get it how can you expect some poor Thai kid to?  I think it is just a bridge too far to cross.  Leave them alone.  You are only making it more attractive and more popular and I don't think that is your intention.
