The money from funds to be used for shark net is gone mysteriously, Or has anyone eaten them?

Obviously more sharks around than just those residing in the ocean!

installing a shark net for one solitary bite is utter stupidity.

Exactly. This pathetic indignation is bewildering.

Mind some on here need something to bleat about to make their day worthwhile.

A european gets bitten..big deal.

Those that complain wouldnt give 2 hoots were it a thai that was bitten or worse.

It was not an "attack", it was a bite, and there is no need for a net.

If any sort of patrol is needed it is for box jellies a far more real and present threat

Firstly the proposal must go in front of committee, Then an assessment to be done, back to committee then costs worked out including percentages that will be added to make sure everybody is happy. Then back in front of committee, to confirm what they are doing as everybody has forgot. So back to stage one, money has been allotted but, has they are no way ready, spilt and hold in bank accounts, till ready. One year later one of two things happen. 1, OMG what this cash in my bank account, it must be mine...Spend! 2. Committee meets decides it needs 12 signatures from people in power, but, nobody will admit who should sign, Give up and go home!

This poster clearly dislikes bureaucracy and has created and image of this his/her mind. ... and without any knowledge of how government or corruption works in Thailand has replaced the reality with a personal baseless and imagined scenario.

It is sad that people who come to stay long term in Thailand do so without getting any real knowledge of how things work in the country, preferring instead to invent erroneous myths that satisfy their own personal prejudices. A classic case of cynicism used as a substitute for understanding of the real process.

If a tourist get struck by lightening on a Hua Hin beach, should the government install lightening rods all over the city to divert the lightening somewhere safer?  Why doesn't Hua Hin have shark nets?  They don't need them.

No Net needed,

polluting the water to such extent that no self respecting shark would come anywhere near seems to be working just fine.
