I wish this country were as commited to saving lives, beaches ,environment and end road lawlessness as they are in Grandstanding in front of cameras with soap opera style drama....

Wait, what? That is exactly what they are doing. They arrested him for encroaching on public land, AKA, the environment. The RTP seems to be damned if they do and damned if they don't.

But crime suppression police served him with a warrant concerning illegal encroachment and damage to the environment in Tak province in Thailand's north west.

LCT decries police use of force with lawyer

By Thai PBS

The Lawyers Councill of Thailand is concerned about the arrest of a lawyer at Phahom Yothin police station on Tuesday (June 19), saying that the police might have unnecessarily resorted to violence.

Thawal Ruyaporn, the LCT chairman, was referring to the arrest of Sukij Poonsrikasem, a lawyer who is wanted under a warrant for alleged encroachment of a forest reserve in Tak province, at the Phahom Yothin police station on yesterday.

Mr Sukij was accompanying Ms Saengsuriyathep Phramahasuriya, a controversial medium, to the police station to file a complaint in another case.

Police are looking for a small medium at large.

thats very good

And once they find her, the police will all have the shirt off her back. It could be a case of one size fits all.

Meh.... they seemed pretty gentle with him.

A donut chuggin American cop would just teaser him at the least.

You mean tickle him under the armpits?  or prod in the ribs?   :cheesy:

I think he meant American cops would have subdued him with a "Taser".  I don't think they were either "teasing" or "Tasering" in this BKK video.

What a fiasco. Was the panther killer cuffed? No, he was given a high wai. Was there a need to cuff this man? All very much over the top and damaging Thailand's image . Surely there is a happy medium??

He was arrested for forest encroachment and damage to the environment. The cops are doing exactly what you claim you want them to do. As for grandstanding in front of the cameras, I'm sure the cameras were there because the lawyer and the 'medium' wanted publicity for their defamation case.

yes because the whole police force was playing "pile on" with this old guy.

Maybe she thought " If they are doing this to my lawyer - what will they do to me?"

I don't really know the background, don't care much either.  On the surface though, a part of me is happy to see RTP not being intimidated by lawyers of the alleged Hiso clan.  Dirt bag monks too.  It's got to a hard when you've been programmed since childhood to fall to your knees and show such a fake level of deference to these clowns.  All this bowing, scraping and kissing of hands in the Catholic church, same same. :bah::sick:

You just have to see the hatred and malice in the copper's faces around the 2 minute mark.

Almost scary. Almost.

You just know interrogation here in a private room aint the the same as in the West.

No wonder there's so many grasses and snitches in this country.

Cops have zero recompense.
