Jonathan Fairfield Posted June 23, 2018 Share Posted June 23, 2018 Russian on overstay arrested for stealing motorbike in Pattaya Images: Pattaya Eastern News A Russian man who stole a motorbike from an elderly Hungarian in Pattaya has been arrested, police announced on Saturday. Vladimir Zhulabrev, 26, stole a motorbike belonging to retired Hungarian doctor Gabor Tamas Pethoe, 71, while it was parked outside a condominium in the Nong Prue area on June 10. Police arrested Zhulabrev along with his Thai wife, Parichart Ninnon, 25, after CCTV footage showed them stealing the motorcycle. Zhulabrev, who also found to be staying in Thailand on an expired tourist visa, tested positive for illegal drugs, confessed to stealing the motorcycle and said he did so to fund his drug habit. Zhulabrev has been charged with overstaying his visa and theft, while Ninnon has also been charged with theft. The pair remain in custody in Pattaya awaiting further legal proceedings. Might of been Payback for the Hungarian uprising where his grandfather a Russian soldier was killed. But most likely drugs affecting the brain.
