RHerberth
Hello. I heard from a friend that it is possible that you can change your 60 day Tourist visa to a Non-ED visa. Is this true? Where do i apply for the change?
BritTim
People getting Non Ed visas and extensions for language schools seem to invariably apply for the visa at a consulate outside Thailand. Thus, it can be assumed that (in that case, at least) applying at an immigration office in Thailand is either not possible or difficult. That said, most types of non immigrant visas can be applied for without leaving the country. The basic forms seem to be TM86 (https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439175) and TM87 (https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439176). You could inquire at your local immigration office whether the course you have in mind might allow an in country application using form TM87, and (if so) the supporting documents needed. When @ubonjoe sees this thread, he will likely know whether there is any chance.
ubonjoe
It depends upon the type of school you are attending. If attending a informal school such as a language school immigration will not do it. For university studies it can be done. See: https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_74
