Good American hot dog

Mrs opening up a hot dog shop. Can anyone reccomend a decent sausage / hot dog we could buy....

re tender without too much spice or smoke flavour. And a thin skin. Some here feel like your biting into thick plastic on the outer skin.

Buying to resell so major concern taste and texture good and doesnt burst open wen cooking. Will be warming in water.

Put some bay-leaves and peppercorns in the water, don't let the water boil when adding sausages.

Mainly selling to Thais so after a more subtle flavour. They don't seem to like our herbs and spices ?

Especially for a mostly Thai clientele I would check out the BetAgro Vienna hotdogs. The TGM and other upscale hotdogs from Makro may be overkill.

Where do u get the betagro from JL? Didnt see them in Makro and they appear to keep no TGM products at all. I got some ARO chicken and cheese which are actually very good texture and subtle taste but maybe a bit big

Funny they have like a plastic wrapper around each sausage. I assume ur meant to remove this before cooking? I think I may have eaten with this wrapper on before 5555

After extensive research on this very subject, our local panel of judges have turned in their results. In their opinion, the Thai hot dogs that taste the most like American ones are:

Belucky Pork Hot Dogs in large packs (not the chicken).

S & P American Hot Dogs in 4-packs.

The voting included: anything-that-tastes-remotely-like through pretty good entries.

Best of Luck with the new shop!

TGM= Thai German meat, IMO the best sausages you can get. P.S. Not an American, more a German hot dog then?
