No he means the drivers who cause these incidents of which there are MANY, plus many of the others who have so far got away with it

Yup, isn't that weird? 13 people trapped in a cave and it's worldnews in every newspaper. 7 people die in a caraccident and nobody cares, even not in Thailand.

Yes but the cave story makes good drama and  suspension of will they be rescued or not with the clock ticking away.the media love stuff like this.better than reading about trump, brexit or immigrants.as for traffic accidents in Thailand, they are just accepted like climbers falling off mountains.

you never brake straight, you alway try to avoid whats in front off you, thats your first reaction..

Speak for yourself.  I was taught to drive correctly back in 1963 and still drive to those learning's in whatever country i am in.   I was taught to brake straight in emergency situations and that is what i have always done and will continue to do.

Hwy 4 (Phetkasem Rd) has a deadly mix of traffic. As the main artery up the Malay Peninsula, it is constantly clogged with slower moving commercial trucks and buses, and passes through multiple seaside cities with lots of stop lights and side streets feeding onto the highway. For some reason, many drivers on this road routinely hog the right hand passing lane forcing other drivers to dangerously pass on the left. Even though the highway is divided for long stretches, trees are often planted in the median divide which increases the risk of serious injury/death if you run off the road. There's also a lot of construction delays on this road, a sure recipe for encouraging aggressive driving and road rage. If ever there was a road in Thailand which demands you slow down, be well rested, exercise hyper-vigilance, and take frequent rest breaks this is it.

Now on the European news i heard there are 1000 rescueworkers in that cave, many international teams as well. I hope they all survive the Thai roads and don't travel in coaches or mini-vans..

The entire world is focused on the football team and their coach, rightfully so, but daily slaughter of innocent lives far exceeds those missing in the caves. And it continues.

Cause the media is crap. All talk about finding kids in a cave which are most likely dead already.

Yet the road carnage continues daily.

The media is a disgrace.

One of those idiots was about to kill us both on motorbike, because he just tried to not hitting the one that suddenly cut his way.

These people don’t know what brake is ? They just cut in next lane to ignore hiting another idiot.

As Thailand seems unable to tackle the issue, should they not get some consultants or experts from abroad to assess the flaws within the context ?

How many more deaths, before any (honest) action is taken, other then  with Police Road Blocks having the sole goal to harass or extort money from foreigners.

Consultants or experts from abroad would tell them what they already know and refuse to hear. The carnage on the roads starts with police corruption and unwillingness to enforce the law.

How will that go over?

Looks that it is vital to wear a discreet body cam (available all over the internet)  when riding the bike to have footage and then send it to the anti-corruption bureau in Bangkok.

A very valid point. 200 people have been killed on the roads during the last 9 days, and almost no one is aware. Don't expect road deaths to come back into the news for at least the next two months, by which time another 3000 will have died.
