I think who ever put the engine in the Be-eM turned it thru 90° possibly to continue using the original gearbox as the GP racer has the cylinders running in line .. I thought Konig rang a bell, they were used very successfully in sidecar racing, in the '70s. A friend of mine had a 750 BSA A65 outfit, used it in club racing, did ok on a very limated budget , at the time a lot of winning outfits where useing Imp engines, as in Hillmen Imp ,and they had a fair bit of sucsess, did once see a Konig outfit ,or heard it first ,it did scream. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am an marine engineer and have worked on those big 2 stoke engines, boy they are something, dead slow is something like 15 rpm/min. On some of them you can take the exhaust valve off and enter the bore in the head, stand on the piston and then turn the engine (with turning gear engaged) and inspect the liner, on the biggest engines the stoke is app 2mtr, pretty cool eh. Those engines span over 3 floors in height (3 decks, marine talking), man I miss them, we don't use them in oil off-shore but only small 4 stoke moped diesel engines. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yep always been a bit of intertwining t'wixt bikes , cars , planes and boats .. Some can carry it off some can't .. Here's one of each .. Sunbeam with a Porker flat 4 ( read Beetle with added Porscheness ) now that looks reasonably in proportion if a little weighty .. And when crossovers go badly wrong you end up with the truly bloody awful Bond 3 wheeler from the 50's with its Villiers engine which looks like its getting a hearty kicking in the bottom pic' ..
