Rescue services in Rayong spent all Sunday afternoon searching for a missing 13 year old boy who was carried out to see while visiting the PMY beach with his family.

The family from Nakorn Sawan had been visiting Rayong to take the boy's elder sister to a job.

After that they stopped at the beach to play football and did not go in the sea because of high waves.

However while the boy was washing himself on a rocky promontory a wave washed him out.

Frantic attempts by his father to save him proved fruitless as he was carried away.

Rayong rescue searched all afternoon to no avail.

So going by the picture I presume they let him play on the breakwater unsupervised and he got washed off by a wave. The sea has been rough for nearly a week here with the waves between 0.5 & up to 2m and apparently he was found further down the beach according to the news today.
