sceadugenga
I opened one in the Bangkok Bank without a problem I seem to recall they appreciated me having a Tabien Baan (Yellow book) as proof of address.

frodo77
Went to Central. Bangkok Bank wanted around 900 baht for some insurance etc. Scb refused point blank, even though I have an account in Jomtien. Succeeded with Krungsri.
sceadugenga
I'm amazed at the BKK Bank demand for insurance... Glad you were finally fixed up.
moontang
yellow bank has the best non fixed savings rates..1.3%..paid monthly..no taxes. CIMB is good, too, but you need a million to get a good rate. Make sure they put you in the right account.

They have been known to play dumb and put people in a low paying one, so you need to press.
