But no one was even fined back at the station. Some sixty women and lady boys had their details and pictures taken and were then released without charge. Pattaya News said it was all designed to make it easier to catch miscreants if crimes are committed against tourists in the future. The process was met with the anticipated derision from Thai Facebook posters with one suggesting facetiously that the mayor ought to organize a "Grand Sex Sale" to advertise the resort. I often shake my head in wonder when I see parents with a child in a stroller rolling down Walking Street, or hand-in-hand with their 6 year old daughter going up Soi 6.
