Of course she did noodle.

You can say a lot about thai girls. But don't ever say they are stupid when it comes to their meme ,what it's there for and how much it's worth in the international arena. This has been going on for decades, to Korea, Japan, nz, Saudi Arabia. Take your pick. And the parents get paid before the lady goes. I'm not against it.

no one is asking you to buy it, because whether the individuals knew or didn't know what was going on, it's still Human trafficking. It's a crime, and the ringleader is going to prison.

Drug dealers that sell drugs are committing an illegal activity, those that buy from them and use drugs are committing an illegal activity.

Those that produce child porn are committing an illegal activity, and those that buy or download child porn, are committing an illegal activity.

Those that run prostitution rackets are committing an illegal activity, those providing sexual services being the main products for the prostitution gangs are committing an illegal activity.

No one is forcing anyone to buy drugs or child porn either, but those involved in these illegal practices are all breaking the law. Without the participation of the girls, the prostitution rackets cannot operate. So who do you consider are the worst offenders of the bunch?

I totally agree with you about some of the girls'  know what the score is.

But if we just legalized hookers all round the world, let them pay there tax, get the protection of the state and rights as workers. and so on and so on, all would be ok is'h.

But these people traffickers that operate now, are real low life scum bags.

who have no care about the girls.  and i'm sure there is loads of threats of violence and plenty of extortion by them,  so i'm glad when they get caught and go to jail.

The girls deserve better.

Just saying. :jap:

They legalized it years ago.  It's called marriage.  :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I'm just not buying that these poor innocent ladies didn't know exactly what they were going there for.

Oh sure someone is going to front up 60000 baht free airfares and 100000 baht a month free accommodation with all expenses paid whilst they get settled in to their new country to work in what they thought was a restaurant. ???

I guess now that they have been saved they won't have to pay the hundreds of thousands they borrowed and since they are so stressed will probably get citizenship to go and sell their wares.

No incentive to lie in court there.

I am sure all of them did know the deal. There are plenty of Thai girls that would jump at the opportunity.

The real problem is the girls are not paid the promised amount. Passports are taken, the front money

to get them there is lent and usury rates of interest charged. Legalize prostitution, destigmatize it.

Then the girls can get help from the police or other relevant agencies if they are being exploited.

It is legal there. Thats why shes been arrested for trafficking and not for running a prostitution ring. But these girls borrowed money to get there so then they had to pay it back. And she was bringing in loads of them. And they were all working illegally. So they put her under the bus to save themselves by saying they didn't know.

Of course they knew.

Obviously they put her under the bang bus then

Some people are just pure evil through and through.Sadly for every one they catch, there are a bunch more still going strong. Personally I think they should have given her a Thai style sentence, something in the region of 200 years, so she knows she is never getting out.

the lady sounds like she could be the average mamasan in any beer bar or gogo bar

I would bet she already has.

Were it the case, then she is even more heartless than what she seems to be. I personally do not wish upon others the <deleted> that I have gone through in my life. Anyone who does is a sociopath IMHO.

The biggest enemy to Thai people are fellow Thai people. In having said that it might be a good idea to slice a tiny little portion of the sub-marine budget for some educational purposes such as "there is no job for unqualified, non-English speakers outside Thailand" as well as "if a deal is too good to be true then it usually is too good to be true". Make that TV clip in Isan language please.

I knew a gal about 10 years ago that told me when she was just out of college she worked for a relative that was very rich. She was his accountant. He would regularly go to the Northern provinces and get the best looking girls for his bar girls. He would buy them from their parents and bring them back to work in the bar.  And, only for Thai men. No tourists or foreigners what so ever. She said the girls were absolute stunners. This was back in the early 80's.

PS: I happen to read German and read the original article which clearly states, that the girls knew from Day One that it was a job in prostitution. The pimping/trafficing Thai woman got jailed for the exploitation (more than one million Baht for travelling back to Thailand) and not for prostitution - which in Switzerland, apparently, is legal. Thai Rak Thai - springs to mind!

With hard labour 18 hours a day and 7 days a week and rice and one veg twice a day small serving and sit on the rock pile to eat it, 10 minute break only.

According to the public prosecutor, the victims knew that they would be working as prostitutes in Switzerland. They also knew that they would have to work off the debts imposed on them. However, they were unaware of the concrete working and living conditions. Only after their arrival in Switzerland were they told how their monthly earnings would be split up.

So according to this translation from a Swiss report, their only complaint was their accommodation and what percentage of their income went back into paying off their loans. They got together and planned to take down their "manager" and escape their debts. It was a clever plan and a fast track to permanent residence.

Scum of the earth.  In Switzerland,  her assets will be stripped.  She'll do time,  then, if still alive,  kicked back to LOS where she may get a job as a mamasan. But she's toast.  More or less.

The Swiss court gave her 8 years, IMHO should have been 28 years.

Ok, fair enough, didn't know it was legal over there.

Wonder if Switzerland will issue a work visa on the basis of  prostitution in

there country ?  maybe not.

Prostitutes from the EU can get permission to work there.

She was just an agent helping girls get work. All girls are forced to say they were trafficked etc etc. In the old days English teachers flying from Thailand to Japan were paid to escort a girl to Narita. The girls were always grateful. Trafficking is just NGO speak.  The same puritanical feminists who have banned models  from sporting events.

Not evil. Just an agent helping girls achieve their dreams and feed their families
