Culture Ministry aims to set up committee for ‘Wild Boars’ movie

The Culture Ministry is to propose setting up a special film board committee to oversee the production of a “Wild Boars” movie at the next mobile Cabinet meeting on July 24 in Ubol Rachathani, Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat said on Thursday.

Pattaya cabbies demand higher minimum charge

No plan to meet local politicians, says junta as Cabinet heads Northeast

THE MOBILE Cabinet would not meet with any local politicians in the northeastern provinces of Ubon Ratchathani and Amnat Charoen next week, two deputy prime ministers said amid media reports of the junta stealing former MPs from traditional political parties.

Cambodian couple demand Thai cops probe

A Cambodia couple engaged in a legal battle with relatives yesterday filed a complaint against two Thai police officers in Bangkok

Baby-clothing exporter Sing Thea, 43, and his wife Chean Kallyan said their previous accusation, that their relatives had embezzled Bt18 million, had been handled by the Thai officers in question.

Movie rights of Tham Luang rescue become an issue

The Ministry of Culture is mulling an idea of setting up a national ad hoc committee to handle the copyright of the information related to the Tham Luang cave rescue operations in the wake of  interest shown by several movie production houses to make films about what has come to be known as one of the world’s most dramatic rescue missions.

Tax on online trade needed promptly




Thailand could lose a significant amount of e-commerce income without an effective law that’s effectively enforced


The Cabinet has approved in principle an amendment to the Revenue Code to levy the VAT (value-added tax) on all electronic-commerce transactions, due to the ever-expanding share of online sales and purchases. In general, the amendment is aimed at taxing the owners of products and e-commerce platforms, especially those based in foreign countries but selling their wares to Thai consumers.
