SEOUL (Reuters) - A South Korean court sentenced former president Park Geun-hye to eight more years in prison on Friday after finding her guilty on charges of causing loss of government funds and interfering in a 2016 parliamentary election.

Govt gives green light to production of movie about Tham Luang mission

BANGKOK, 20th July 2018, (NNT) - The recent meeting of members of the committee responsible for films and videos in Thailand has resolved to promote the production of a film telling the story of the Tham Luang search and rescue operation, after five world leading movie studios showed interest in making a screen adaptation of the epic mission.

Police try to cancel bail after ‘threat’ to victim

Bangkok's Wat Phraya Krai police will file a request for a criminal court to revoke the bail granted to a 23-year-old male who allegedly covered a woman, 22, with gasoline and set her alight earlier this month as he had allegedly threatened to attack the victim again along with her friend.

School boss denies rape charges

A 51-year-old former director of Patong Thanoen Samakkhi School in Nakhon Ratchasima's Bua Yai district, deemed to have breached a serious disciplinary code by having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old pupil, was given 30 days to appeal against the provincial authority's decision to dismiss him without any pension and welfare benefits.
