PHUKET: Two Ugandan women have been arrested on Bangla Rd in Phuket’s main entertainment hub Patong after it was found they had overstayed their visas.

However, no details on how long the women had overstayed or how they managed to fund their stays has been forthcoming.

Patong Police Deputy Chief Lt Col Jessada Sangsuree confirmed the arrest of the two women following a report titled ‘Suppressing Human Trafficking and Alien Overstaying’ being issued on Thursday (July 19) and addressed to Patong Police Chief Col Anocha Jindamane.

What is needed to figure this one out is the detective who found the fat woman at the cake shop the other day.

Did he have to wait until the fat lady sung?

Or was he a "Singing Detective" (apologies to Dennis Potter)  :sorry:

Why does this story about two people getting arrested make TV news?

If the police see any Africans standing on street corners calling out to passers-by they should know that they are criminals; drug dealers, pimps, prostitutes or scammers.

These people are criminals back home and criminals in Thailand...but come here because they can make more money in Thailand.

The police should not be arresting them for overstay. They should be arresting them for being criminals.

Or possibly for "possession of curly black hair and thick lips"
