Some of the world’s biggest football clubs are interested in buying the Moo Pa Wild Boars football academy.

But the club’s vice president and manager, Kittipong Intaechai, has said despite the interest his club is not for sale at any price.

Mr Intaechai said the purpose of the academy is to help improve the lives of local boys in Chiang Rai through playing football, not to make money.

Mr Intaechai also warned the public about buying Wild Boar souvenirs.

In the aftermath of the rescue many souvenirs have been created that include the logo and name of the Wild Boar team. However, these have not been produced by the club but instead by people hoping to cash in on the back of the success of the rescue operation.

The Wild Boars football team shot to prominence during the much publicised and successful operation to rescue 12 of its junior team members and one of its coaches from the flooded Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai.

While none of the clubs supposedly interested in buying the Wild Boars were named in the report in Thai media, teams from the around the world have offered support and gifts to the boys following their rescue from the cave.

TNA reported that German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich recently sent well wishes to the boys along with 13 replica jerseys which have ‘Moopa Academy’ printed on the back.

Manchester United previously invited the boys to their Old Trafford stadium and Carrington training base, while Portugal’s Benfica has also offered the boys an all expenses paid trip to train at its academy in Seixal, near Lisbon.

Yeah, just make sure that after you buy 'the club', whatever that entails, those kids will not get lost again somewhere that will cost millions of dollars and half the world help to find them......

And he calls himself Thai?

The PM and TAT will straighten him out once the bids start coming in.

Nah, they'll be wearing those GPS tracking ankle bracelets that were suggested for foreigners.

That's the end of any future for them then.the whole point of being a footballer is to reach dizzying heights of fame and fortune.i suppose he can borrow them to look after his chickens and rice fields.i think the team need a new boss.

Well I'll be damned, a man of integrity. I hope he doesn't get transferred, and I really hope that ex police chief FA president keeps his greasy palms out of this one. Wait and see.

It's really starting to become ridiculous by now!

Yeah, but don’t worry. Soon nobody will care about these boys... just like before they went into the cave.

One could be forgiven for thinking that the kids did the rescuing, as opposed to needing to be rescued.

You sound like a foreigner who has been in Thailand too long to have found your personal taste of utopia. If you don't like it get out but don't ruin the fun for others. I have never seen you say anything positive on this forum and you are often one of the first to post. Don't you have a life outside of ThaiVisa you bitter old.......

What a nonsense news story .

No Club would have any interest in buying the "academy"

Its not even an academy , its just 13 kids that play football .

With no assets , no football ground and no supporters , the team is financially  worthless anyway .

   Just a made up story

I have never understood, do not, and will never, understand the world wide obsession with sport in general and football in particular. To be more precise, the voyeurism.

I can understand the attraction of actual participation in a sport. Kicking a ball, a good snooker (if you can call a game a sport..I do not), driving a race car, a hole - in - one.......fantastic. But watching others do it?....Yawn!

Since all mass interest sports went 100% "professional", with  Brits on a Spanish team, and so on, and money rules all, I am even less interested. It's all considerably less exciting than the proverbial paint drying.

Why would any major world famous football team possibly be interested in a team of third world adolescent footballers whose only claim to fame is being stuck in, and rescued from, a cave in Thailand?

I smell rank commercialism. Back off and leave them to get on with their lives. If they are good enough..and stupid enough..to become professional footballers,no doubt they will get there by their own efforts. Put there by media pressure and marketing parasites will cause nothing but grief.

No do not be silly, Thais are as good as the Brits, Germans etc at football. Look how many Thais are in the UK Premier League must be at least 1%

It is zero per cent in the EPL. A reserve goalie in Belgium and that's it for Europe, I think.

Maybe a couple in Japan's J League.

Let`s be realistic, those kids only claim to fame is that they got trapped in a cave.

They`re just average kids from a poor village community in Northern Thailand. But now I fear there are those that are going to try and cash in on this and those kids are going to be used and exploited by companies and the media demanding certain expectations of them as being some sort of celebrities in a crazy media circus.

Why not just leave them alone and let the lads simply get on with their lives.

Ditto Champers above .. No Thai's EPL .. Some Koreans and the odd Japanese but nowt else from this end .. They do have some form of kickit volleyball but to be honest it sounds a bit cissy being played with a wool ball thing .. I mean there's nothing like getting smacked in the face with a real football ( especially a wet one ) on a cold Sunday morn'.. So that don't count .. But by all accounts Thailand are the new Brazil when it comes to kite flying with a 2 mth ! championship .. Get in there Thailand .. ?
