Be bold and go bald!! You are wrong. I'm also almost bald, but in my case it doesn't affect me mentally as I always liked to shave my head and have a good looking shaped head. Some men are not so lucky and hair loss affects them more. Personally, I am getting tired of shaving my head every 4-5 days and am sometimes considering a transplant.

Stevemercer
If you still have some hair left worth saving, you can go the Finasteride (1 mg) route. It'll stop the remaining hair from falling out.

They used a dedicated team of about 20 to separate out and implant about 2000 hair follicles. It involved minor surgery to remove a strip from the back of the head, These days I believe there are less invasive techniques available. Check out the options first. It was the best decision I ever made. My implanted hair is still growing and gives me that sense of confidence when I look in the mirror. In all that time only one person has spotted that my 'young man's hairline' above my forehead is due to a transplant. I am not too worried about the thin-bald patch at the back, but this could have been improved by a second procedure. Don't listen to all the bitter bald men trying to put you off. Do what you feel is right for you, (but I am not sure if I would trust a Thai clinic to make the best decisions about redistributing those valuable follicles.) Modern hair transplant techniques do work..........well it worked for me. Where in Mauritius ? I have seen direct flights with Air Austral to this island. Popular Post milwaukeeboy
So sad that there are few testimonials here and few real answers to the original question. I think that if you want a hair transplant, then you should give it a shot. I started going bald in my early 20's and by the time I was about 55, I just didn't like looking at the bald guy in the mirror. On a trip to India in late 2016 when I was 60, a very dear friend who knew me from when I was a teenager, goaded me into it at a top clinic in the Punjab and even paid for most of the cost. I was so bald, that I didn't even think I had enough donor. I went through the procedure over 2 days and 18 hours of surgery to get over 6000 grafts transplanted for a cost of under $3000 US. It also included, PRP (Protein Rich Plasma) injections. The hair took hold and grows faster than it ever did. People tell me that I look 15 years younger and I feel more confident and enjoy seeing my face in the mirror so much more than for the past 3 decades. It's not a full head of hair, but it is distributed well and looks great on photos and cam chats and gives a great first impression. Most importantly, I feel much better about myself and that's what really matters. 6

Popular Post Cactus99
I was very surprised to see all the negative comments at first. (Who could possibly object to someone wanting a procedure that would make himself happier, and that has no negative effect on anyone else?). But then I remembered which forum I was on. Many of this forums participants are simply the MOST negative, bored and miserable group of expats on planet earth. If they can't be happy, then they will not allow anyone else to be happy either. To the original poster: If this is what will make your life happier & better, you should definitely do it! Good for you! Just be sure to research the clinic, hospital & doctor thoroughly first. In some respect, Thailand can be a great equalizer in respect that regular folks can have access to procedures that only the wealthy can afford in the West. I have saved a lot of money by having dental work done at the BIDC in Bangkok over the last 10 years or so, which offers a super clean, modern and efficient facility for any type of dental work, with everything is done in-house. There are also Joint Commision evaluated hospitals in Thailand as well, certifying international standards. Good luck on your procedure. Don't pay any attention to the naysayers and those whom for whatever reason, wish to remain miserable (or miserably bald) and want to bring you down with them. 4
