Indian man arrested after Thai woman is found strangled in Hotel Room.

In the early hours of Sunday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Gitapong from Pattaya Police Station received an urgent call to attend the O.D. Bowl Hotel located on the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya after Hotel Staff discovered the body of a Thai woman inside room number 508 which was known to be occupied by an Indian Tourist.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the location and inspected the body of Khun Ratiyar aged 20. Cable from a Phone Charger had been tied around her neck. Hotel Staff told Police that they heard fighting inside the room in question. As they arrived at the room, they saw the Indian Guest, Mr. Harminder Singh aged 38 coming out from the room.

He then collapsed in front of the room and appeared to have either taken or was given an overdose of a form of narcotic which rendered him almost unconscious. An ambulance was called and he was rushed to Hospital. Afterwards, Hotel Staff checked the room and discovered the body of Khun Ratiyar under the covers of the bed.

Mr. Singh is now under arrest and has been charged with murder pending further inquiries. Police believe he may have murdered the Thai woman and then attempted to take his own life. We expect further updates on this story and will bring them to you as soon as they are received.

INDIAN POISONS THAI GIRLFRIEND IN PATTAYA LOVE TRIANGLE

An Indian national, Jalandhar Harminder Singh (38) ,administered poison to both his Thai girlfriend, Miss Rattiya Nawar-aran (20) from Esarn, and himself, ostensibly, because she had taken a new boyfriend.

The person that notified the police was the cashier, Miss Phanaporn Sornbhanu, at the OD Bowl Hotel, Pattaya, who had noticed that when Singh came downstairs had looked extremely strange with his face a violent shade of red, retching and obviously in pain. She asked him what the matter was, but he ignored her and continued vomiting, obviously in a bad state.

She immediately called the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and requested an ambulance, which duly came and took Singh to hospital. Next, Miss Phanaporn rang up to his room where she knew Singh's girlfriend was likely to be. However, Miss Phanaporn received no reply from telephoning the room and decided to go up and investigate. When she knocked at the door, there was no answer so she went in and was shocked to see the dead body of Rattiya Nawar-aran lying on the bed, covered with a blanket. Rushing downstairs, Miss Phanaporn then called the police.

The police duly came in the person of Police Lieutenant General Chanaphat Narwalak and searched the room. The room was in a state of disarray and there were papers and letters scattered around. One of the letters, written in English by Singh complained that Rattiya didn't really love him, but it was too late to rectify the situation. The police discovered two straws which had apparently been to take a powdered drug, possibly cocaine.

The police then rang the hospital to apprehend Singh and also because they thought that it was likely that he might try to commit suicide again. The police are continuing their inquiries.

The suspect, Mr. Harminder Singh aged 38 attempted to kill himself after he had allegedly murdered the woman inside Room No. 508 at the O.D. Bowl Hotel on the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya.

He was taken to hospital and on Wednesday Morning he had recovered sufficiently to be released from Hospital and was immediately taken into custody on the strength of an arrest warrant detailing the allegations of murder. At Pattaya Police Station he explained that he knew the victim, Khun Ratiyar aged 20 for some time, but what he didn’t know was that she was also in a relationship with a Thai man.
