webfact Posted August 7, 2018 Share Posted August 7, 2018 Landslide leaves large rocks blocking Mae Hong Son roads By The Nation A landslide in Mae Hong Son left a local road blocked by large rocks on Tuesday morning. District workers have been dispatched to clear the section, along with heavy machinery from a Department of Rural Roads branch office in Mae Sarieng district, said Sop Moei district chief Pha-ob Binsa-ard. He thought the road would be cleared and traffic resumed on Tuesday evening. The section of the local road lies between Ban Umloh and Ban So Khong in Sop Moei district. Pha-ob added that if heavy rains returned, area roads could be blocked by additional landslides. Meanwhile Trairat Wanasirisuk, president of Sop Moei’s Tambon Mae Sam Laeb Administrative Organisation, said that nearly all the landslide-affected roads in this sub-districts had been cleared except for the road sections in Ban Sop Moei, Ban Pala-ua, Ban Koh Ngo Khee, Ban To Hae, and Ban Phu Tha.
