webfact Posted August 22, 2018 Share Posted August 22, 2018 Landslides warned for 108 Mae Hong Son villages By The Nation Picture: Chaingmai News Residents of 108 villages in the northern province of Mae Hong Son should brace themselves for possible landslides following days of heavy rain, governor Sirirat Choomupakan warned on Wednesday. Sirirat said he had instructed all district offices to monitor for possible flash floods and landslides. Officials in at-risk districts have been ordered to warn the villagers he said. He said the areas at highest risk are 30 villages in 7 tambon of Mae Sariang district, 15 villages in five tambon of Sop Moei district, 36 villages in 6 tambon of Khun Yuam district, and 27 villages in five tambon of Mae La Noi district. If officials consider a landslide is imminent, they must evacuate villagers immediately, the governor said.
