How about returning the billions the Shinawatra clan stole and build hospitals from that money? Will get your much further (and trow in an ipad for all)

How about realising this is now 2018 and the world has moved on just a little bit?

Some folks seem permanently stuck in this Shinawatra timewarp...

PARTY ALSO PLANS TO SELL SUBMARINES AND BUILD HOSPITALS FROM THE PROCEEDS

THE Pheu Thai Party will abolish compulsory military conscription if it returns to power after the next election, a party source said yesterday.

The former ruling party also aims to sell the Navy’s submarines and use the money to fund the construction of hospitals, the source added.

Brilliant move!

Could be a winner !

Over to you, Junta...

It's still the Shin party so why move on?

Don't, then. If you want to be relegated to Shinawatra pub bore / raving conspiracy theorist status that is entirely your choice...

That's it. No chance for Pheua Thai now. Once they come out with this kind of policy (which is actually a sensible plan, in and of itself, in my view ), the militaristic Powers That Be will become apoplectic and pull every trick in the book to block Pheua Thai's inevitable march to victory (in a free and fair election - which will never happen here under the junta).

Oh dear. The Pheua Thai have just put a tight noose around their own neck ...

I like the plan for sure, i don't like the PTP as you know but this is a great plan. I just think it can't be done as its anchored in the constitution. Just like future forward who i do like who want to do shrink the military. These are just empty promises as it can only be done if they have like 70% of votes. So I like the plans but nobody should think it will be really done unless they got like 70% of votes.

You almost got me confused there. Fact is that Thaksin is still in control of the PT party. So you are saying that Thaksin didn't steal billions from the state coffers?

(haven't visited a pub for a very long time)

This is sure to antagonize Prayut, but I doubt he is worried as (unfortunately) there are built in rules in the constitution and they need more then a normal majority to change these things. The plans are great that is for sure.

I am saying so what if he is? Unless the junta are planning on assassinating that entire family, they are just a fact of life.

'But surely, comrades, no-one wants farmer Jones to return' is well past its sell by date.

Just wait for the court cases to finish and then he will be convicted for coruption. That is why he never came back too worried about the court cases.. and I bet you forgot the cake box incident.. I mean honest mistake of Thaksin, if you believe that you believe in Santa Claus too.

TS just used the bodgy rules setup by all governments around the world to get rich with the complacency of the people allowing it. I too have not seen proof with my own eyes that TS did anything illegal.

Its just he annoyed those above him.

As with Trump. If he was that bad, vote him out in an election

But even American, England, and Australia are coming close to ditching democracy. Not in my lifetime thank god.

Only an absolute moron would give any credence to the deliberations of the Thai courts.

How fantastically amusing it is that the Bangkok Post is today running an article that has the Auditor General "insisting" that Yingluck's rice scheme hurt the nation when the just released national financial statement prepared by the Comptroller General's Department (CGD) did not report any losses incurred by the rice-pledging scheme.

Hahaha, only Fanboys maintain the delusion.

Unfortunately, the voter rebellion in such countries is only useful to elect people. Democracy, if it ever really existed, is already stone cold dead everywhere

Sure your a crazy Shin fanboy nobody in their right mind would consider Thaksin clean and not corrupt. Also they proven 30 billion baht in losses from fake G2G deals and two high ranking PTP members are in jail for it. So much for your claims. But keep on going.

Now lets keep at the topic at hand, great plans, just not easy to or keep the promise.

Thaksin made his money BEFORE entering politics.

Once in politics, his wealth increased, but the increase was less than the SET's increase over the same period (i.e. he underperformed compared to the the market).

Prayuth's 600 million on the other hand, where did that come from?

Maybe you should educate yourself a bit before making ridiculous comments. Just arrived in Thailand?

This is a nice summary:

I'm corrupt. I saw 10 baht on the road yesterday. Wasnt mine. I picked it up.

Further down the road i handed it to a plastic bottle collector.

So im corrupt. The money wasnt mine to pick up,  but im corrupt in a good way. Like TS.
