rooster59 Posted September 1, 2018 Share Posted September 1, 2018 4 confirmed dead and 3 missing in spillway breach in Myanmar Four people died and three others, including a boy, went missing after runoffs from a collapsed dam spillway on Swar Creek in Taungoo district in Bago region swept into four townships, The Irrawaddy News reported on Friday. Spokesman of the Bago region government office said that four bodies – including a pregnant woman, a 17-year old teenager and two male adults – were found in Swar township where the runoffs first flooded. The missing persons are an 11-year old boy, the driver of a truck and an army major from an infantry battalion. Water from the dam on Swar creek has been flowing across the land and into Sittaung river since Wednesday after the dam breached, causing flooding in four townships.
