NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 8 October 2018 (NNT) - Buddhists in Nakhon Si Thammarat province have celebrated the annual religious ceremony ‘Boon Sart Duen Sib’ with a parade of Phi Pret puppets, intended to encourage people to refrain from all vices.

The parade, led by a group of elephants, traveled from Pra Maha That Temple to Nakhon Si Thammarat City Hall.

Local residents and tourists alike enjoyed the parade this year. Creators of the best puppets were awarded 66,000 baht in total. Meanwhile, another parade carrying food, also to celebrate Boon Sart Duen Sib, will be held in the afternoon today from Sala Pradu Hok Pavillion to Pra Maha That Temple. The Phi Pret puppets will be among the highlights.
