Rescue services and hospital medics rushed to a factory after a worker got his left hand trapped in a coconut husking machine.

On the ground floor of a factory where coconut is processed they found 25 year old Natthaphon Thippayut in agony with his hand crushed to the bone in the machine.

Phra Nakorn Sri Ayuthaya hospital stall gave him painkillers as equipment was used to extricate the victim.

It took half an hour before he was taken to hospital.

Factory owner Itthidech Khongman, 39, told Sanook that Natthaphon was working alone and should have had another person to help him.

He blamed lack of proper rest on behalf of the worker.

Hmm, but obviously not the factory owner's fault for not ensuring there was someone else.

Wasn't there a similar accident to this only a week or two ago? Someone had their had stuck in a machine - was it in Chonburi?

Sorry, but in my book that puts you, the owner, fully responsible for this poor man's accident. I know health and safety regulations in the U.K. for example, place a lot of emphasis of responsibility on the workers themselves. However, they are also protected by labour laws which are either non existent here, or at the very least not enforced. Hope he makes a recovery from his injuries.
