As this is a public poll and it is for self identified GAY MEN ONLY to vote on, I am noticing some member names on the poll that I seriously doubt are actually gay men based on their posting histories. That's the kind of FRAUD I was trying to prevent by making this a public poll but alas it wasn't a foolproof tactic.

"not a foolproof tactic"

So you got fooled. No surprises there. Silly poll results in predictable failure :cheesy:

Sorry to hijack your thread but what gives you the ability to determine what or what not other people are?  I am not gay, and I cannot imagine any straight male being attracted (other than superficially) by ladyboys.  If, indeed, a man is attracted to one after knowing he/she isn't really a she, then he clearly is gay.  Not saying he doesn't know it before-hand though.

Because you can’t imagine doesn’t mean it can’t happen. It just means it’s not something that’d work for you. I also disagree that any guy interested in a ladyboy is obviously gay, that’s just in your head

Who are gynandromorphophilic men? Characterizing men with sexual interest in transgender women.

Abstract

BACKGROUND:

Gynandromorphophilia (GAMP) is sexual interest in gynandromorphs (GAMs; colloquially, shemales). GAMs possess a combination of male and female physical characteristics. Thus, GAMP presents a challenge to conventional understandings of sexual orientation as sexual attraction to the male v. female form.

Wow. Extremely interesting and on topic to this poll discussion.

Yeah, though I see there was some post snipping. I only posted so much because I didn't know if the link itself would be allowed and wanted the info accessible. But the snip should have at least included the very relevant to this thread...

..."CONCLUSIONS:

Results provide clear evidence that GAMP men are not homosexual. They also indicate that GAMP men are especially likely to eroticize the idea of being a woman."

I came across that upon researching due to a childhood friend relatively recently coming out of the closet to me as a gamp though we didn't have a word for it and that word sucks. Also I had a partner, RIP, who as young men I and he both considered him to be bisexual for we didn't even have the pan or omni labels yet. He also enjoyed "ladyboys" as we used to bring home the bar entertainment with us for him to play with. We had a decade of incredible fun before I lost him. But he also, though emotionally monogamous with me, likely was gamp for others. So for years I had an inkling that it was its own orientation--as it made sense to me that for one existence (a ladyboy, etc) another who would be attracted (which now we know called gamp) is naturally occurring--but I never looked for studies (and maybe none then were yet done) until my old friend told me what type person he's into. I'm now the keeper of his closet against the rest of our friends who he won't tell, oh yay.

There was another study done and if I find it I'll post it by two scientists utilizing big data derived from porn sites. Millions of data points. And they conclude similarly. So yeah, real interesting and all evidence based.

PS, luvs your bat mueller.

I think it's more a cultural thing, straight Arab guys have no problem to have sex with trans or boys, while waiting to get married. They have no choice really and have somehow accepted it. Ask them and they will deny any gay feelings .

I would think it's different with westerners brought up in an open society. They are reading about it at early age, and will find a sexual identity in their teens. Ladyboys or transgenders will probably confuse them , being straight and have sex with a ladyboy with an erection I would think in their mind wouod feel being experimental and bisexual .

Yes there are definitely very large cultural differences.

However I think it's fair to say the members in this forum are largely western so there is going to be a western perspective here.

Like how when you're young and your crotch rubs into an erection against the bottom of your desk in grade school you later in life develop a desk fetish, making it embarrassing as an adult to shop Office Depot.

You may have something there on associating thoughts with physiological reaction but the scientist in the video explains how according to their research involving millions of data points penis is pretty much sexual for everyone--str8 men included-- and across all the cultures. It's a human condition thing more than a cultural thing, a brain wiring, an internal thing, though certainly the external expression of that might be more acceptable or available or exposed or practiced etc depending on, as you note, culture.

Thanks for this.

This thread was started because some straight men wrote in another thread that any man who has sex with a ladyboy is gay by definition. So that theory has now been disproven.

Interesting. I would like to know how man gays have had sex with women before (and if they are the ones who have also tried ladyboys, or not).

A Brit friend hangs around public lavatories in shopping malls after work and says many of his "conquests" are wearing a wedding ring.  He's not a lady boy. Does that count?

No its not,i still reckon that if you want to play with a mans willie, even if he is dressed as a woman you have gay tendancies .
No problem with that ,but admit to it and get on with your life.

Incorrect. Attraction to ladyboys is primarily a straight thing because they present themselves as females.

So its  not a  homosexual thing in your opinion? Is  straight  males  just  deviating on a  whim? Looks  like   female so is same as?

Yes, mostly a straight thing. Obviously. Why would most gay men put up with all the social problems of being gay in a straight world if they weren't attracted to other dudes. Ladyboys present as females. Most of the people attracted to them are attracted to females. The opposite of gay men.

Your perspective. I am straight and  not attracted to ladyboys despite acknowledging the fact that a good percentage present as very feminine and attractive superficially.

Perhaps a survey of those who have had sexual encounters with  ladyboys  by comparison  to those who have have lasting relationships with same would be more indicative.

"Encounters" are  not representative of  much other than  curiosity similar to experimental drug use.

Certainly not really representative of set or  committed predisposition unlike the more mature gay men or women I regularly interact socially with in my local community.

It's not about one person. It's about the percentages. Obviously attraction to ladyboys is much more of a straight thing than a gay thing. Bi too of course.

I never intended my comment to be  about one person. As I originally commented a single survey is unlikely to indicate  too much. And obviously gay men are less likely to be attracted to female  representation real or not. No more so than gay women being attracted to  men or those presenting as  male

Bi ? Strikes me as  either  confused  or  selfish ! lol
