Police said Pit Wangsri, 57, was killed when the fire burned down his one-storey wooden house in Ban None Sawang village in Tambon Ban Klang, Wang Thong district at 9.20pm. His brother told police that Pit had been drinking with him earlier in the evening. After he returned to the house, he lit the fire to burn a nearby pile of garbage and went to sleep before the fire spread to his home. The body was sent for a post-mortem at Wang Thong Hospital.
